Probably doing an Olivia Rodrigo and getting some decent touring experience/buzz under his belt before doing larger places on the second album. It's a very sensible way to do it now for popstars who've blown up online relatively quickly without live stuff to prop it up.

If any 80s/90s kids remember them, The Popguns are back on tour in July with a couple of dates in tiny venues York and Newcastle. Wendy's voice sounding as good as ever. jangle/dream/indie pop done well.

Its not really that uncommon, other artists do it. Besides - who knows how long she will stay around you may as well go after the paydays while you can!
