  1. They're in Europe a little too early for this unless they're staying around a full month and a bit.
  2. Almost certainly won't be back at the farm without a new album in tow.
  3. A little bit of a curveball but I wonder if New Order could be a possibility - they've two regional gigs scheduled a few days after (and almost certainly doing All Points East given the dates) and might fit in a sort of Kraftwerk placement way. They'd be the biggest band on the bill but did Blue Dot, same capacity as GM, a couple of years ago so aren't opposed to doing these mid sized festivals.
  4. Right, but I think ultimately you're in the minority with this sort of thing. The Win thing barely made waves outside of online spaces - certainly most of my friends I know that aren't glued to online won't even know about it at all - so I think it'll probably be fine. I don't think they'd be getting booked at eg Malahide and Gunnersbury if promoters weren't confident in it.

    2024 Headliners

Miley hates touring now and has pretty much said recently she's totally over it, so I wouldn't expect her performing in Europe any time in the next few years.
  6. Their existing dates don't work for All Points East (unless they're planning to stay for over a month in Europe) and they're too small for BST, so I'm guessing probably Gunnersbury is the best fit. It'll sell decently - the vast majority of people who'd be into this show either don't know about the Will stuff or simply aren't bothered. Funeral's a top notch album and plenty will want to see it live.
  7. They did a decent job putting this together given I suspect it's getting harder and harder for them being a) right at the end of the summer and b) not the same cashflow as Green Man. It's missing some more interesting mid table electronic or experimental stuff for me (in the vein of Actress/Oneohtrix/Forest Swords/Max Cooper/James Holden etc) but there's still lots I'd watch, and Idles/Bonnie Prince Billie will sell tickets to different demographics which they probably really need given the soft sales last year.
  8. The Corrs have a weird London shaped hole in their touring for November, so presume they've got a summer exclusive somewhere like this.
  9. Streaming is absolutely not the metric to gauge headliners for a niche nerdy festival like this because different demographics consume music in different ways and a band like Lankum are never going to have streaming friendly tracks. You should be looking at venue sizes and physical ticket sales to get rough estimates of the size we're working with (roughly bands who'd play Brixton Academy or Hammersmith Apollo - or in the case of Lankum well on their way to it), not streams.
  10. I don't think so? Two regional dates over APE week and no London show feels a bit suss to me, and they're the right size for it.
  11. I'm not really sure why people are still shocked that they're booking mid sized headliners. They've shown the past few years that it's actually part of their business model and not every act is going to be The Strokes size. As a festivalgoer I actually love the fact that acts like this, or Jungle, or whoever are getting a chance to headline – it's better for the festival landscape as a whole to be pushing different acts higher up and giving them a chance. Am I going to rush to buy tickets? No, probably not, but even if I pick up a cheap one nearer the time I'll be spending money on booze and food while I'm on site. They won't be losing money hand over fist, it's an experienced festival promoter.
  12. It rarely does, and there are always tickets floating around in the weeks and months leading up to the festival even on sold out years. The Lana day will however almost certainly be a sellout based on her name alone (it's likely the reason they've implemented this fan presale thing) and that will also likely filter down into weekend ticket sales. If you don't get a ticket or can't afford it now you'll absolutely find one nearer the time, though.
  13. You simply can't compare 2022 to 2023 though. It had a backlog of pent-up demand from festivalgoers who'd bought tickets over covid, had all the novelty and hype of the two weekend idea, had thousands of people with rolled over tickets from a previous edition, etc. It'll be more accurate to see how eg 2023/2024/2025 compare now the festival season has settled down a little.
  14. Taylor's show is also designed specifically for stadiums and is produced the same night after nght. I don't see why, out of every single festival happening in the world across the next two years who'd want her, Primavera would be the single one where she would go "yes OK I'll do an entirely different stage setup for you, for one night only". It's not beneficial to her in the slightest and her fee would be a fraction of what she'd make on her own show.
  15. It's unrealistic. She would obliterate Primavera's budget and the entire festival's demographic would be skewed. She's doing no other festivals on this tour. Also Gabi just wouldn't be able to keep his mouth shut if they'd have booked someone this massive. She might pop up with The National for a song if she's around Barcelona, but she won't be headlining.
  16. Yes. It's a good way of creating hype (the fan sale tickets will undoubtedly be restricted and "sell out" quickly, making anyone who missed out panic buy in the general sale) as well as get lots of data on festivalgoers.
  17. I mean they literally said the lineup was coming in November, not sure what everyone's getting antsy about. It'll come after all the team are done dealing with the weekender, probably with their usual teasing a couple of days beforehand. Last year it came right at the end of November (handily anchored around payday for a lot of people in the UK) and I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the last week again this year.
  18. Nelly and Kim Petras are both nailed on from the London fest announcement, I think. Nelly would go under whatever Spanish speaking headliner they're booking perfectly and Kim ticks the queer pop box a la Charli/Rina they're keen to keep topped up.
  19. Forest Swords was utterly fantastic last week, deep beautiful cinematic trip hop-y dance, would be a great booking for a just-past-sunset slot somewhere. Fingers crossed
  20. The Gossip teasing a comeback. Would be perfect on Cupra.
  21. Probably not, they only played mid afternoon Mordor in 2022 and haven't had a huge increase in profile since then. I could see them doing evening time on the Amazon/Ron Brugel stages though, that would be good.
  22. A handful of these would easily slot at Primavera.
  23. Yeah, they'll be locked in for Primavera. It's such a no brainer booking for them.
  24. Stunning new Forest Swords album out today, very Massive Attack/Nine Inch Nails/Burial: euphoric industrial-tinged electronica from Liverpool https://open.spotify.com/album/0BxkPi0ivE10et9zJ576x4?si=gyNQhiRHQqmfbSKNlhj_jA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A0BxkPi0ivE10et9zJ576x4
  25. I seriously doubt Mitski would sacrifice an entire summer of festival money at a new peak in her career, particularly with the kind of money Primavera can throw at her. It'll be a set that can transfer easily to a festival stage, presumably it's just a case of swapping out some of the more low key numbers for something that works better in an outdoor setting.
