"Really big secret"

Jaysis, relax the chops lads. I agree, great scenes if the secret is to your taste. I merely made a quip about it being disastrous if you're not. Of course we'll know before so it won't actually really be a secret so I wouldn't actually be there if it was shite but ye know. Bants :D

Touché :D

I'm just imagining how twitchy @bennyhana22 would be standing at a stage not knowing what he was about to see

Haha! Poor Benny!!! I'd go and watch that!! :) (sorry Ben!)

And this is why there is zero chance of me ever seeing a set of this nature.

Gaps? There are no gaps, in the BenFinderTM.

:)

Why not?  They are reforming (well, the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu are)

Have they ever done a gig as such?

I remember their last reformation, 20 years ago, as 2K.  That was amusing but just as daft as ever, and only 23 minutes long before they disappeared again!

They seem more they type to do some  PR stunt than actually play some tunes.

Emily also says in that interview that "I'm just pleased we've managed to keep it secret for this long. We've had it for about six months."

As an aside, if it doesn't turn out to be Gaga, it'll be interesting to know why she dropped out of the picture as in that late October NME interview, it was hinted she was in the frame when she said "I don’t have permission to say anything about that" when asked about Glastonbury.

As another aside, late October to early May is about 6 months.

I'm rolling with Gaga talking sub slot for Foos. ....said it before and hoping it comes true

Just to throw a few more wildcard names in the ring.

1. Chase and Status have a new album coming this summer, collabs include This Moment with Blossoms which is currently doing the rounds on radio.

2. Calvin Harris also has a new album coming June 30th, collabs with Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Snoop Dogg, John Legend. What makes this a more interesting possibility for me is that although he's based in America now he usually plays 1 / 2 British festivals each summer. Usually he will play T in the Park and a.n.other while he's here, T in the Park is cancelled this year and I think it would be in Glasto style to support him as a successful international British artist.

    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
    • From Magyar’s FB:   ”Our country's energy and water supply is stable. As of today, voluntary consumption reduction is no longer necessary. The turbine at the Paks power plant is generating stably. Thanks to precipitation in Austria, the water level of the Danube will temporarily rise by 20–30 centimeters. Thank you, Hungary, for the unprecedented national unity shown in recent days! We have much to be proud of, and much to carry forward into the period ahead.”
    • I hope it stays under £400.  A lot of us aren't flush with cash.  Charities are great but do they need £1 mil (I jest)
