Ok, so where are we up to in terms of runners and riders?

Likely (in that they're around and would be up for doing it) - Billy Banjo, Gaga, Stormzy

Less likely (might not be active and/or about) - Swifty, Kendrick,

Active but unlikely to do it - Fleetwodd Mac, Spice Girls, 1975, Bon Jovi, Pink, Arctic Monkeys,

one I'll chuck in, just because I heard it yesterday from a music biz source - tho I really don't think it's right.

Bruce Springsteen.

But that word "yet"?

I feel a few High Fidelity quotes coming on...

Words that eFests forum lives by:

"I agreed that what really matters is what you like, not what you are like... Books, records, films - these things matter. Call me shallow but it's the fuckin' truth."

Suspect that's still a recurring echo of Little Steven on Twitter saying they were ready to do it.  He's since said they're not playing.

I hadn't seen he'd said they're not doing it, but it makes sense for what I was told to have come from his tweeting. Thanks.

I accidentally wrote 2019 down as the date on a form the other day and I was pretty certain it was because of continued discussion of 2019 festivals so I can’t make fun really.

I'll probably start writing 1899 soon after a Red Dead Redemption binge.

Are Rock Werchter due to announce any other headliners? They have two on Friday/Saturday but only one on Thursday/Sunday.

One for the Thursday for sure. Unlikely they will book another one for Sunday. Last time Muse played they had Kasabian subbing them but Kasabian are way smaller in Belgium.

And the best bit....

I guess it looks as if you're reorganizing your records. What is this though, Chronological?

No.

Not alphabetical?

No.

What?

Autobiographical.

No. Fucking. Way.

"How does he do it? You ask.  How does an average guy like me become Mr #1 Loverman for his particular postal district? He's grumpy. he's broke. He hangs out with the Musical Moron Twins..."

Ten years after boring everyone half to death he's back to finish the job!

We were watching him and left because we were bored. I’ve often wondered whether I made an error of judgement or was just maybe too young to appreciate it. Thanks for clarifying.

Thank god no 1975. That’s a result. That throws the 3rd headliner wide open (Gaga).

Didn't bore me. I had a great time watching Bruce!

Really hope it's not the dreaded Banjo's. I'm still really hoping for Gaga (i stuck my flag in the ground early on this one with my tenner bet)

Are we sure that the Spice Girls are going to be too money orientated to want to do it as their tour will go right up until that weekend with extra dates that will be added.

    • I don't think they are too big for Castlefield these days. They've not had a new album for almost a decade and they like playing smaller venues. Maybe multiple nights is another option as they do like residencies
    • Second half of next week I would expect for stage times.
    • made a last minute decision to go to Belladrum festival.   it was absolutely wonderful.   never been before, to be honest I think I was expecting a stage in a field and a burger van, but its nothing at all like that.   the site is beautiful, its small enough to get around, but big enough that there are things to discover round each corner, there are a good number of small stages tucked away.   you could quite easily convince yourself you were in Glastonbury in places.   I may have only been one time, but already learned a valuable lesson - the site itself may be Glastonbury like, but the "general camping" campsite is very much Reading like! as the morning mist rises... its a view like the Do Lung Bridge scene in Apocalypse Now...   so if you are not 15 years old, go to family or quiet camping which is fantastic.   its a real family friendly festival to - loads of families and kids of all ages running round and stuff for them to do.   I would 100% recommend it, and I really can't see any reason why I wont be going back next year!   🙂
    • In terms of a Manchester/Leeds date, Wythenshawe? Too big for Castlefield Bowl, Kirkstall Abbey, Millennium Squade
