Gnomicide
The setlist from the last festival The Strokes played consisted of: 11 songs from Is This It 3 from First Impressions of Earth 3 from Room on Fire 2 from Future Present Past

I spoke with Melvin Benn at Reading 2013 and spoke about Foals, he said he loves them and that maybe they could headline 2016 and for whatever reason I didn't put money on it After this Macca stuff, I reckon you're better off going to William Hill and betting on the next ruler of Westeros

But I've also had info the same info from another - and better - direction, including a re-confirm of the info from the same place. So The Cure should still be accurate as I always felt it was the better info of the two. (and if Jennifer on twitter is on the money with what she's heard then Macca was originally the plan anyway - so my Macca info might well have been right at the time). Thanks for clarifying! I feel like we need to get a timeline together of who was booked when! ?

That said, The Stone Roses have managed similar. Very harsh on Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth saying they’re riding on one album IMO. They’re both terrific, although not quite at Is This It? level.

Last gig they played was Chile in 2017. They played 19 songs, including all 11 from Is This It. You don't have to do too much digging into their setlists to see they are all skewed towards one album. Funny thing is I like The Strokes...

CaledonianGonzo
That they rely on one album wouldn't be an issue if they werent a catatonic, Walking Dead-ass shambles of a live act.

fatyeti24
It would be wrong and unfair to blame the Strokes for the deluge of interminable guitar pop that followed in their wake. But that's not going to stop me, the c**ts.

Gaga would be a great booking, as discussed ad nauseam on here. The one little thing which makes me think it's not her, is Emily's 'we've got a couple of blokes' line. I've always read that as her wanting the female representation, which hasn't come this time around. Unless it's a double-bluff, but that would be typical e-fests over thinking... FakeEmpire
The Spice Girls advert for dancers confirms the contract commitment until 16th June 2019 (i.e. the final Wembley date) so it doesn't look like they'll be active beyond that. All the more reason to do separate early announcements for 2 big female solo acts. Add to that say Lana and Christine on the Pyramid and there's no issue with female representation in big slots. The media seemed to run with the 'in talks' thing but I reckon that's a misquote. Mel B said 'it's been talked about' which tbf it has. Any Tom, Dick and Harry could (and did) suggest they may do it. It being talked about doesn't quite translate to in talks does it? But as I said, everywhere seemed to jump on it.
