Yeah I'm going struggle to pull off that jeans/suit jacket and t-shirt combo

That was pretty much the uniform of the early 00's.

Longish hair, t-shirt, suit jacket, jeans, Converse.

I'm a married father hurtling towards middle age these days, that ain't happening.

If we end up with Stormzy, The Strokes and The Cure,  I honestly think it could be argued that IOW has a better set of headliners.

All good for us chumps in club resale though I guess

I'm slightly inclined to agree

Says on the eFests report that LDR is an exclusive, so I guess she's out of the running.

Tbf I thought with that booking LDR may be exclusive as she's only borderline big enough to headline it.

CG won't be subbing Saturday.

That they aren't doing it? Care to elaborate a little further..

My suggestion wasn't knocked down.

After reading "If we end up with Stormzy, The Strokes and The Cure, I honestly think it could be argued that IOW has a better set of headliners" I went on isleofwightfestival.com. I really expected to find bigger names than Noel Gallagher, George Ezra and what might be the worst band of all time in Biffy Clyro.

That this can compete with anything is just crazy talk.

After months of discussion in here I would almost say this looks like six co-heads :P Almost.

Potentially even all bigger crowds for the 'subs'. Not sure about CG though, or about him even being there. At least more interesting than Noel.

LDR was one of the main reasons my gf agreed to go this year. If the bad news keep coming I guess we might be returning tickets after all...

Always baffled by those who want to return tickets because of a name or 2 (or lack of) on a lineup. Sure there will be plenty who would love those tickets to go back in the pot

I am sure there will be plenty of acts for me but it may not be the case for her, who just likes a few bands and singers. Anyway there is still time.

IOW line-up is rubbish. It always is. It's to be expected.

I honestly think this years Glasto headliners are just as bad. Imagine if IOW announced Stormzy, The Cure and The Strokes  for their 2019 headliners lol

It's only cos it's Glastonbury they will get away with it. And that's fair enough.

are there any festivals on the first weekend of July that The Strokes could be announced to headline?

because they're hardly going to haul themselves to Europe to play Glastonbury, then sit around for 2 weeks doing nothing until their Spain gigs (and then France the following weekend)...

Sure there will be

JC + The Voidz came to Europe for one festival last summer, and I’m sure they weren’t being paid as much as The Strokes would be either.

Loads of major bands just fly in and out, particularly ones - like The Strokes - where they have nothing to promote and no need to try and fill all the gaps with anything they can get.

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
