I can't even remember the source where that came from, can't recall it being linked to a poster.

wasn't it a supposed text exchange between someone 'in the know' and some geezer, where there was a lot of chat and which finished off with an unreleased festival poster that the ITK guy had?

To be clear what reasons are you presuming it will be the Strokes?

Nick Grimshaw has said twice on the radio this week that he's been told The Strokes are playing Glastonbury. Not long before that someone on here had been told that the headliners were Stormzy, The Strokes and The Cure.

I thought it potentially fit in with the info we'd had about Macca supposedly pulling out and Glasto approaching a "surprising" solo artist, suggesting they may be scraping the barrel a little bit. I wasn't convinced, though, as I was 50/50 on whether I believed the rumour about Macca pulling out. Now that that's confirmed I think it'd be a very large coincidence if it isn't The Strokes and those rumours came out of nowhere after Macca pulled out.

Fair enough mate.

At the risk of reigniting the flight times/rest debate, is Vegas on Saturday and Glastonbury on Sunday completely, completely impossible for Macca?...

Exciting this. Was quite looking forward to seeing him, but it does free me up a night at the Pyramid. Unless it's Gaga who I'd be tempted by, none of the other options being bandied about seem remotely interesting. Strokes bored me to tears back in 2001.

Yep. The Macca dream is over

Can anyone fill me in on the context where everyone is saying "iconic June date"? Ta.

P. S. Found out yesterday Little Chef is no more. Week of devastation.

There was a rumour Arctic Monkeys were doing an iconic June festival but the person who provided the rumour confirmed it wasn't Glasto, so it's irrelevant.

Yup. Not a chance. Apologies if you wanted to see him, but extinguish that hope before someone gets hurt.

Same guy who passed that info on said they weren’t doing Glasto.

I outright asked Blake a few months ago, and he said his contact at Domino (think that’s their label?) said he won’t be missing anything from them at Glastonbury that weekend in terms of headliners

Things may have changed, but I’m still confident on Gaga

No. Paul McCartney has to have 4 days rest between shows and if he's flying back from America it has to be 4 weeks because planes make him restless.

    • That leaker off Instagram was saying earlier this year that Nickelback are doing a tour with Broco and Wargasm, but no evidence as yet
    • Gojira are unoficially confirmed by the organisation at Hellfest since last December already.   Slayer was supposed to be this year as a Mainstage 2 headliner at the place of Volbeat for a thrash day but negotiations fell off. Very likely to be there next year.    MCR I didn't know about but it fits well with Hellfest's desire to keep one day as more punk/rock orientated.    Europe are a confirmed headliner for Sweden Rock 2027. They will not headline HF but we may seem them on the bill. I am very curious who will be the legacy bands next year at HF. There was some backlash after 2025 and a bit of a return to heavier metal on the bill in 2026 - e.g. Gatekeeper on the main stage. The only considerable legacy acts I see coming (if they are in Europe) and haven't been at HF for a while are Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Slash, FFDP (if you count them as legacy), ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I really hope they manage to pull sth big for the 20th anniversary like AC/DC.
    • Looking forward to Doja Cat letting us all know what is going on later on today. It is a good job that somebody is keeping us informed.
    • They've got a few gigs in Dec/Jan.  Hoping to pick up a couple of tickets for Margate later today
