On that theme I think they get offered their pitches by end of this month at the latest so we might get some soon.

do any of the usual suspects have a twitter account?

I've got more but can't access at the moment for some reason.

itd be nice to be tonight, hell itd be nice to have some form of announcement this month.....it really does feel like its being dragged out this year, sure we knew more then just 1 headliner by this time as of late as far as years go.......though I will consult the thingy unless wrong on that note.

Nope. It was the same last year. Penguin was wailing and stamping his feet around this time last year too IIRC.

I miss pieminister

Check out 'Tom's Pies', set up just around the corner from the Bread & Roses, bloody marvellous fodder; every bit as good as pieministers I reckon :)

Going by the thingy the October announcement of Radiohead was a particularly early one compared the last few years, so maybe they think they gave us a bit of a treat with that one and we can wait for a bit longer. Also February announcements seem pretty random but more weighted towards at least the middle or end of the month, so seeing as we are only the 10th I'm thinking a week or two at least yet before we get something (that we already know anyway)

The NME awards have been good to us over the last few years , we normally get something. Blur, U2, Foo fighters, Dolly have all gone that night.

There have been five headliner announcements made on Fridays in February including two double announcements.

What do you mean by double announcements? Two acts in one announcement, or two separate announcements about different things?

Double trouble.

Didn't Emily say there "will be something in the new year to keep everyone in the loop?"...which is suitably vague enough to  raise hopes for an announcement any day now or at any time in 2017.

I'm calling it - full poster is coming August 15th.

Yep. Would expect something sooner rather than later. Only thing that remotely interests me about this announcement is potentially finding out the days of the final two headliners. And even that is just so I can feel more confident when posting my stage predictions.

Two acts announced at once.

The Verve & KoL and Muse & Stevie Wonder

So seven headliners have actually been announced on Fridays in February :o

    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
    • Said it before, but if Annie Lennox is available next year, then it would be an absolute crime to instead book anyone else. She's rare and legendary enough that you drop all other plans.
