My other half somehow got in at 09:01 however it took three attempts at putting in card details in for it to actually go through - that was a tense 15 mins.

Same - first time I got to the payment page it just wouldn't go through, then I got the message saying I'd taken too long and the tickets had been released and I had to start over from the beginning! I thought I was done at that point, but was lucky enough to get back in and that time they were finally kind enough to take my damn money!

Just had to remove the weeks holiday I had 'reserved' on the works holiday chart, in the case I was successful yesterday.

Devastating. Somebody please hold me. :(

Ah dude sorry to hear that. I've just booked mine having held off on the off chance I wasn't successful.

I trust you'll be trying in the re-sales?

Aw bless ya, sending a hug 'cos I need one too - are you not trying in resale. I still can't believe I don't have a ticket and never got through once (unusually) first time in years (I've had a good run), however my 'grief' cycle has moved from shock and is still in disbelief haven't quite got to acceptance yet (resales to come) my teeth are still gritted this morning and didn't sleep well wondering if I could've done something different, especially after reading someone bought 2 tickets on separate registrations for themselves.

aye it's disheartening seeing others managed to get through two, three, even four times, or bought tickets twice over 'just in case', and getting absolutely zilch yourself. i'm confident for the resale though (especially with this lovely community on hand) so am not gonna throw in the towel yet. gonna be a tough six months, but i'll be damned if i'm not going to Glastonbury by the end of it!

Might have missed a post on this but was there a specific technical reason the sale was slower this year? Server crash etc etc

I was wondering this. Just less demand this year perhaps? I managed to get through 3 times to get three different sets of tickets all before 9.20, so was a little surprised to hear about people having so many troubles.

I wonder if refreshinator might have caused a few problems. Did anyone use that and have success?

Yeah I saw a few posts suggesting that app may have been the cause. Me and the wife managed to get in from two different desktops at work but up until that point the holding page wasn't even loading and the whole thing just seemed a bit slower. It was encouraging in a way compared with how fast they sold out last year.

Thanks guys .. I will be trying in the resale but I won't be expecting to be successful. The old 'hope for the best but expect the worst' approach.

I'm not quite sure which of the 5 stages of acceptance I'm at right now!

Refreshinator is more likely. Less demand would actually make it sell out quicker due to reduced load on the servers.

I'm with ya for resales.

I have had success in both resales and secret resales for the past 3 years or so, helping others when my ticket was secured in Oct but I can never celebrate having a ticket properly until the wider group are across the finish line - so even if I had got my ticket yesterday, I would've had mixed emotions as usual.

I too am confident we WILL be at Glastonbury next year and may take up any offers of help from the lovely efesters here, after failing miserably yesterday...

I thought that refreshinator thing was tested in the coach sale and seen not to work? I've no idea about it though.

Sad to see there was a computer hack that allowed people to get tickets though. That's a real kick in the teeth if you didnt get one through fair means, I'm sure. But I suppose if I knew how to do it, I'd do it.

Glastonbury will be full of IT specialists this year.

Congratulations to everyone who got tickets! That was one tough hour! Took a full 45 minutes to secure everyone in my friends network (25ish people) tickets but everyone got them in the end, I will of course be around for the resale and willing to help people on here. Now I can sit back and fully enjoy the headliner rumour game.

Did you get fixed up? Can't have you missing Radiohead's return.

Still not heard reports back from anyone who used the refreshinator thingy in the main sale.  Be interesting to see if they did manage to block it.  Perhaps everyone who used refreshinator has been taken out by the Seetickets Protection Force (SPF (not to be confused with Sun Protection Factor)). I've heard they can be brutal.

I don't think being able to edit a text file classes as being an IT specialist any more, does it?

Working it out and understanding it, yes, but not just making the configuration change.
