Well I will say this, I am currently sitting on an Oil platform half way between Iran and Qatar in the Persian Gulf(seriously). As you can well imagine the internet service to out here is a bag of bones. I was trying for about 25mins (with firefox), then all of a sudden bingo, 2 tabs we were through. I put in reg details, was filling out card details(went straight to that page no problem) and was about to hit process when a message from home came through to say we were sorted. I thought I would share this, as in all honestly I didn't expect to get anywhere near, I was just doing it to see if it worked.. I was amazed. So I would say anyone has a chance, if it worked from out here.

I've done the host modification for as long as I can remember. Got details from a guy on twitter last two years, then from this forum this year (possibly 2012 from here too iirc)

How do these kind strangers find the details though? That's what I'm trying to figure out

Yeh this is what I want to know, ready for 2 years time :P

I got to the registration page pretty early on, but never saw the payment page (kept timing out, hitting back, clicking proceed, timing out hitting back, etc - ad nauseum).  Luckily one of the others in our group managed to get through successfully- massively frustrating 10 minutes or so willing the reg page to change to the payment page though!

Mate of mine sorted my ticket on Thursday (I didn't get a peep then either) but we were unsuccessful getting anyone elses today, forgot how stressful ticket day can be. Gonna try in the resale for mates!

Will always remember someone randomly posting an unannounced resale link in here about six years ago and managed to grab a load, whoever that was will forever have my gratitude haha.

First time back at Glasto since 2011 though, very excited!

sadly not :(

So sorry you missed out again, join the club!! However I feel quite optimistic about joining the recycling crew again this year. I did it in 2014 and it was all good and free food tea and coffe and showers!

Got in after around 10 mins with no slowness on the site. Just hammered the F5 key. Got binned twice on the payment page but just clicked back both times and resubmitted and was accepted 3rd time around.

Managed to get 6 of the 12 we needed. After the initial success all I got was non connection or holding page.

Now I just need a campervan ticket. Can anyone remember when they go on sale?

Saw Michael Eavis down at the site today aswell. He looked happy.

Was awful for me getting through but managed after a bit to pay the Glasto love forward!!

More convinced on the randomness/connection not mattering a fuck than ever before!

Can't wait for next year and I shall be making my return to efests, know you've all missed me ;)

No Glasto Fest in 2018 tho.

At about what time did the site crash? I had bagged three tickets within 14 minutes I think it was. Find is mad how bad the servers did crash though from what I've heard on here and twitter.

I dont think an easy ticket day would be fun though, the panic and nerves are all part of it

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
