We put tower cranes up at work and this is how its done.

erect the tower and assemble the jib on the floor. Get a mobile in to lift the jib and slewing ring up..

So they are building a bigger crane to potentially build something else...

We'll be seeing a slipform core going up next

Not sure how this got onto my screen when I locked my work laptop but it was nice surprise.  Great photo of the site as well.

Anyone else had it?

Yeah I got that. Very welcome surprise.

I did post on the last page how to, if you want one of the archive images :)

For the images in the archive, like the one I posted, just amend the red bits in the url below to find the date/time you are looking for.
panodataX.panomax.com/cams/879/YYYY/MM/DD/hh-mm-00_default.jpg

They seem to have removed the archives? I can only see stuff on panodata1?

I've been trying to look at old images and created a page based on the camera map you had and only some are available. Here's the page:

https://www.freeyourfeeds.com/glastocam.php

I was hoping to have it grab from the right database - so if anyone has an update on where the gap images are let me know and I can update this.

Arcadia seems to be coming clearer then.   A combination of the tweet below and a scan on Avonmouth / Bristol cranes makes it look likely that the structure we can see on the webcam is a dock crane base.  In fact on the clearer zoomable picture you can I think see the jib lying on the ground and the cab!

It’s defo not those, they’re very much preserved but working examples outside the m-shed

Both Avonmouth and Portbury docks has got rid of most cranes last 10-15 years.

Where there are gaps is when they camera has been down.
It appears they have moved the archive back to panodata1 possibly?
There are some instances where the image isn't on the 10/20/30/etc mins (just to be difficult).

For example - 09/11/2017 is a pretty skewed day with random times! Interestingly the images through most of the day are every 5 mins.

Amazing job for someone like me who can't ever manage to get the archive stuff to work.  Just had a look at the same time 2 years ago and through the 2017 festival and it seems to work perfectly - good work!

Could be the tour Michael puts on for local OAP's?

Got a feeling my Wife's grandparents have been around on it pre-festival before.

Not certain but I think that's usually much closer to the festival - maybe the friday or the monday before gates open. Someone posted a few clips of it one year, and I think that a lot more infrastructure was in place.

Think that tour is done when most of the site has been put up, not long before festival time. Saw it on the bbc coverage in2017. A bus tour, followed by tea and cakes, ME seemed to know everyone on the bus.  Today’s bus is probably delivery a work crew.

or a surprise band filming a publicity stunt announcement like the foos did ?
