Weather thread 2015

I'd love for it to be sunny with some clouds and not too hot, maybe a shower or 2 over the night to keep the ground from becoming dusty.

But we're all going to be there ra*n or shine, so prepare for both and don't let the weather ruin your time :sungum:

I think the key will be when this bit of low pressure hits - some (for example the weather video guy) were saying that it was going to hit at the very end of the month, which would obviously be shit news.

Over the last 24 hours or so though, the general mumblings seem to be that the low pressure will come in around the middle of the month.

Not counting my chickens yet mind, these things change very quickly.

Couple of people in my group have been saying this is a good forecast - I think there's too much yellow in the pictures so they think there'll be loads of sun.

Very much 2007 weather.

OK yeah, I'll take this:

wixcmc.jpgI've got some new rainfall figures for previous years (the dotted grey lines). I don't know how much to trust them - as 2011 felt a lot wetter than 2009 - but they are the best I've got.

Shows just how much rain fell on the Friday in 2005 - the Guardian news reports at the time said two inches (50mm) fell in two hours (!). That's almost as much as the entire 2007 festival according to the chart above.

due to the new drainage scenes of 2005 will never be repeated.

i know its not in the spirit of the thread but anyone thinking they can accurately predict any sort of weather earlier than the day before is deluded.

forcasts change DURING the festival. on the tuesday we will know the weather for wednesday and have a good idea about thursday and to a lesser extent friday. Saturday and sunday will not be known.

storms can be predicted then change their path, or could be missing the site but then move in. The area the festival is in seems to attract unusually changeable weather as well in my opinion. We can have all types of weather in just one day!

I can believe that.

What is the story with that canoe? I've always wondered as the only logical reason for it is that it was brought in after the flooding. But to do that, in those conditions would take some effort. Is it a publicity shot set up by a paper!? I'd love to know!

Let's just shut down the met office then, its clearly pointless!

We already can say its probably going to be an average year..

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
