Can anyone explain to me why The Who is a dull or uninspired booking? Most people seem to be pointing to the fact that they played 8 years ago, but I'm guessing the average Glasto goer hasn't been every year for the last 8 years? I'm excited at the prospect of seeing them personally.

As for cancelling the gig, I dunno. 6K people isn't a huge amount, although I'd be gutted if I had tickets and they turned around and cancelled. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that it's happened though.

It's only slightly less uninspired than having coldplay or Blur, who have both headlined more recently. I for one woils have still been happy with Blur (coldplay not so much), but I could see why people would deem them an uninspired booking. It's simply the fact they've played within the last decade.

For those who ent fans of the band, have seen them live recently or at the 2007 festival, its uninspired to them. For those of us who have never seen them and would like to, it's not.

you see, I genuinely believe this. Nearly posted the same.

The bands touted to be the third headliner are changing on a weekly basis, all the attention is being defelected from prince, which will make him happy. Emily also said it's the biggest year for keeping things secret and Michael had said the announcements massive. Plus my brother has a theory him and noel were both signed on to play at princes koko gig earlier this year, and wasn't kanye signed to play glasto at koko, noel didn't play an encore that night so he could go to princes gig at koko.

For months I haven't believed my brother about prince but the more ludicrous this is getting the more I'm starting to believe him

Blur set would have new material, the who sound like they are just doing a greatest hits set which is the same as 07

as much as I'd love it to be Prince, Emily categorically said he wasn't playing.

plus he doesn't seem to have a problem with people saying he's playing a gig when he is actually playing. he has advertised his gigs months in advance before.

it's when people are saying that he is playing a gig, when he's not, that he gets the hump (allegedly, based on comments by the ever-trustworthy Michael Eavis)

STATEMENT FROM PETE TOWNSHEND, April 27, 2015
“When I did my interview with Uncut I was asked what might change when I turned 70. I replied that I want to stop telling lies."
Like taking 6,000 fans' money for a gig that's not going to happen?
"...for example I would play crap gigs and tell Who fans to fuck off. I don’t really want to do that today. I hope it’s clear that I have not done that yet on this tour."
So he's not going to tell 6,000 Who fans who've bought tickets to a big Paris gig to fuck off home again empty handed...?
...Mind you he's not actually 70 yet, that happens on May 19th - some great people born that day.... :bye:

Not having it. Probably as much from my blind hatred of The Sun but also because I can't see them nit cancelling that date sooner.

Someone has already said that the announcement isn't due until June, if that's the case and they were going to continue advertising the Paris gig, knowing they're not doing it, that is SO out of order it's untrue.

The two most interesting members of The Who are dead anyway. I'll be elsewhere.

The Who's website still says: "Hyde Park will be the final UK show of THE WHO HITS FIFTY! tour"

That's also pretty deceptive if in fact it's not, coz they're playing Glasto 2 days after. More irate Who fans if The Spun story is true

I know I'm usually the one to believe a rumour but I'm fully in woodersons camp for this one. They can't do that

Which means it's happening guys! You heard it here first!

FFS I really hope not, that would be a massive disappointment - how can it be anything more than a repeat of last time, they went pretty all-out....

Who're we reckoning is headlining the Other on Sunday then?

Chems. Belle and Sebastian on Park. Praying for something relevant somewhere.
