  1. Ah man that's crazy, I really thought they were separate years. I love them both and both were in my consideration. Dolly was a close second, we've been given some treats ent we. Also how the fuck could I forget cash... Going to presume you mean Dianna Ross? Otherwise my memory fails me again! Tbh she has all the potential to steal it this year, so many bangers and such a cultural and pop icon she could headline all by herself
  2. So, listening to some of the legends who have filled that slot tonight I wondered 'who would be the legend of the legends?'. So I come here to ask. I don't even remember if he played this slot and he would have been one of the first if he did, I think it was that slot, and imo it has to go to Leonard Cohen. I was an 18 year old boy who didn't know this man and, as I watched him with my uncle who is a massive fan, I remember being blown away. That's my vote. Who is yours?
  3. Ah that reminds me that I also lived in Stirchley for a year or so, on the pershore road though so not the hip village. I love Acocks Green though despite what others think of it haha, it’s home and all that. Big fan of Moseley myself but I only go to the park and the pubs tbf, kings heath is more my speed though tbh. Great place. I’m 32 and never went to Ilsley’s they didn’t want me at the same school as my entire family so sent me elsewhere.
  4. I still had a great time but I think I had blocked out the really difficult parts, when you really think on that year it was fucking hard at times.
  5. Thats great then! I think I’ve made my choice mostly down to the ‘inflatableness’ of the tent - I was always going to get F&B - as I personally despise the effort it takes to put a tent up when it is absolutely boiling (we usually have about 6 tents to erect with three people doing it while others arrive by coach). That’s really quite good ennit? It has given me food for thought.
  6. In hindsight it might not have been the best choice but the beer in me, that I was returning through the crew camping area and it was K rather than anything else (don’t really know why that mattered at the time) gave me a, perhaps false, sense of security haha. And of course man, I’ve lived in Acocks Green almost my whole life with some periods in Erdington. You a Brum lad yourself?
  7. Thank you both for the info. I really want this tent because it seems a good size and the F&B bit. One thing I really, really hate about camping anywhere is not being able to stand up (even at least mostly) and not having somewhere to sit that’s not the bedroom. Being 6ft 4 it is difficult to find one I can stand up all the way in that isn’t huge and stupidly heavy. Any thoughts? 15kg seems pretty reasonable to me. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/4-person-blackout-air-tent-air-seconds-4-1xl-fresh-black/_/R-p-302837?mc=8648382&c=BEIGE
  8. How big is massive? I’m tempted by one and a friend brought one with him last time, I don’t remember seeing an overly large pump? I don’t remember seeing any pump tbh
  9. Ahaha nah I really thought so at the time, I remember saying so to my mate. He disagreed but is a huge huge Stones fan. Do people not think Primal Scream were amazing then?
  10. After trialling a friends F&B rent I will almost certainly be joining the club, absolutely wonderful.
  11. All I’ve done today is realise that it is about 9 weeks away, got extremely excited, then panicked about money and that I’ve got nothing at all sorted yet.
  12. They were great but Primal Scream blew them out the park.
  13. I was really very drunk and walked for what seemed liked hours to another gate
  14. I don’t know how useful or useless drug dogs are but I seem to remember seeing them around the gates on more than a handful of occasions at glasto and haven’t been stopped by one at Glastonbury. I have been stopped by them once at boomtown on my way out on the Saturday, back to the car to collect something. I had nothing on me on the way out and got sniffed out and strip searched but I did have something on the way back in and walked straight in.
  15. I always find these opinions absolutely insane. It’s almost always based on a moral judgment that drug users are bad and need to be dealt with, the other arguments about crime, violence and addiction could be (mostly) dealt with through a regulated market for drugs and proper rehabilitation efforts for addicts. They never support that though, they just want to mutilate people to exact moral punishment.
