She's generally not very quick to kill off a wrong story, if she deems it worth bothering with to kill it off.

There's an awful lot of stuff that goes around that never gets commented on by her. I don't think you can read anything into it if she doesn't comment.

But would you not expect the band to be forced into a comment.

Sure fans that have tickets for a show will want assurances that it is not been postponed

I won't comment on the ethics of cancelling a gig to play Glastonbury. What I will say is that the set and accompsnying visuals for this final tour is stunning. I saw them in Cardiff and even though they had to cut out a big section from Tommy because Daltrey was unable to perform, I had already seen the most mind blowing show and tribute to their former band mates. I will be absolutely made up if this news is true. It knocks spots off anything they have given us before and will go down as one of the greatest Glastonbury sets ever.

We have had a greatest hit from the who in 2007. I actually think this would be an awful booking. You have to wonder why Glastonbury would go back to an act who will essentially play the same set insted of bumping an act up.

2007 was The Who vs. The Chemical Brothers. Surely not the same again?

er no it was Iggy and The Stooges, chems were the Sunday. John Fogarty was on Jazzworld, with Rodrigo Y Gabriela on late after, which is where all the rockers were.

Iggy was on the Saturday against the killers

70% of the '07 show is in current setlist. We've seen it before at Glasto. This hyperbole is even more unwarranted than the frothing at the mouth about Swift.

I don't think there will be any switching of days of headliners to accommodate The Who. Although I think it's unlikely they'll cancel their gig on the Sunday, it's even less likely that Kanye would move to Sunday and The Who would play on Saturday - that would be four gigs in a row for them. I'd love for them to be playing but really can't see it happening.

IF this turns out to be true, it screams of last minute utter panic booking from the Eavi - scrambling to call up everybody 'available' to see who's up for it. yes they could've bumped up Flo etc, but what with Kanye already causing such a ruckus would having another controversial pop act up top be wise? they 'needed' somebody big

fingers crossed it's not true though. not only am i not interested in seeing The Who, but i wouldn't at all agree with how they came to headline

Yep. It's a bullshit booking. Cancelling shows to maximise "best of" sales? Fuck off.

I'd guess the band's only comment would be the cancellation of the Paris show. This issue with announcing them for Glasto isn't likely to be that, it's likely to be the BST show, so they probably have to keep it zipped (if it is them).

I've just looked at Ticketmaster France, and tickets are still available to buy for that Sunday Paris show.

So I reckon the Sun's story is probably wrong, but I guess it's a good idea to keep an eye on those tickets.

Surely if it were The Who they wouldn't want to wait until June to announce as they'd want to cancel the Paris show well before because of the ticket holders? The more I think about this the more it doesn't seem right.

I've tweeted @thewho and @emilyeavis. If this rumour gets enough coverage someone will need to make a statement soon on behalf of ticket holders for Paris gig.

I agree completely that this would be a dick move from Townsend and Daltrey If it's true.

Saying that. Always liked The Who. Never seen them. Considering some of the shite that's been touted this year this isn't all that bad.

What did people make of them in 2007?
