Thing is, I think many will be like myself, this criticism has got my back up..I feel more supportive now of the booking than I did when I first heard, mostly because some c*nts are attacking my favourite festival.

This.

The prick who started the petition has never been to Worthy Farm and I doubt most of the sheeple who signed the thing have either.

Indeed, I'd say if he'd been to Glasto the petition and the subsequent furore would not exist.

I think it would've just been started by someone else

The festivals changed since she took the helm. Too commercial, too many pop acts etc.

Completely ignoring the pop acts booked prior to her getting involved.

This Is certainly the gist of some of it. Ruining the ethos of the festival and things of this nature. Utter nonsence. Much smaller groups insinuating that this "unwanted" change in direction is a result of her being female. No matter how small a minority, those people make me sick. You'll come across multiple comments specifically directing anger and criticism at Emily when scrolling through social media comments. It's that which I have complete distaste for and I commend her for standing up against. Edited by Living for the Long Drop

I'm taking heart in the fact that nitwit with his petition is gonna feel like the grade A prick he deserves too when he gets to the farm, sees what it's all about and how fucking amazing the place is. He's gonna be so embarrassed for ever that he did that petition...and that makes me smile.

To be honest, its on that basis I might be in the pyramid field that night. If 100,000 were there and loved it, it would vindicate their decision. It would be massive "fuck you" to the world.

I really want it to be looked at as a classic moment, whether I'm there or somewhere else.

This is exalt the way I'm thinking the more this anti Kanye shit foes on the more likely I am to be there the eveii do one hell of a good job they don't deserve this shit that's aimed at them at the moment.

Have I Missed anything over the last 14 pages? Big night last night not expecting much has changed.

Also when did emily take charge?

She's been taking more responsibility every year. Looks as if Emily and her husband are booking more and more of the pyramid headliners.

She's also had her own offices built on site in the last few years.

This is a superb post. Quite superb. I'm fuming about this whole farce and I don't even have a ticket!

Come on man, the bloke isn't even attending the festival, and I bet the majority of the people who signed the petition aren't. Out of all of the people I have on social media, it's been people who aren't going who are moaning, the ones who are going are all saying the same as the rest of us. Knock the festival on the head over thousands of clueless people who aren't even going?

It'd be really terrible if the name and photo of the guy who started this petition was given to all security and stewards, with instructions to check him VERY thoroughly for illegal substances. That'd be awful.

Ordering my 'NEIL LONSDALE IS A w*nkER' t-shirt as we speak.

Won't it be special for his first time to be graced by rubber gloves in rectums, t-shirts roaming wide and of course...my flag.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
