There are plenty of requests from the moderators to keep BV stuff out of other topics.

How about keeping paying to watch out of BV topics?

Given that there's a genuine chance the BBC will choose / be forced to drop Glastonbury as a result of this then I think it's directly relevant.

As mentioned there was another thread where we were discussing that specifically and it got merged into this one.

I think everyone knows that and it’s not people posting that people were moaning about. It was the fact that they had been merged

Agreed - the thread merge has gone a bit wrong in this instance!

@Crazyfool01 @kaosmark2  can we unmerge these threads. There is some v slight overlap between them but really they are confusing each other

So I wasn't involved in the decision at the time, but my understanding is the title of the old thread was "Glastonbury to be cancelled to appease Israel" - which was a direct response to the Bob Vylan chants stuff and is why the merge happened.

It does appear that the conversation in that one has shifted to whether the BBC is the best broadcasting partner for Glastonbury, which I agree is distinct enough to warrant being a separate topic.

I'll have a look in the moderation tools to see if we can split the thread again, otherwise, apologies, and the best solution would be to create a new thread about the BBC/broadcasting options.

Thanks.
Yes it was a sensible merge at the time but the broadcast side of it has moved on making it a totally separate topic.

Threads have now been split, BBC discussion comments from the last 24hours now here:

The two pages before that comment everything I saw about the BBC was directly referencing Bob Vylan's comments, so I haven't looked further back.

Bob Vylan doing a show at 100 club tonight. Tickets went so fast. Gutted

Would that be the same BV, who will never be booked again and have destroyed their career?

Expecting Vylan tonight to:

- being their usual anti-semitic selves

- denying the 7 October massacre, as always

- clarifying that having read an efestivals thread, they now realise Gaza can't be a genocide as not enough people have died

Has anyone seen the outrage caused by Twitter's AI, Grok, posting blatant, literal, anti-Semitic content?

Surely only a matter of time until all government departments and corporate entities sever their ties with twitter and people have to step back from their duties for allowing it to happen.

That would be a no then.

Twitter is unusable now, I don't know why anyone bothers.

Tell them they've cancelled Glastonbury 2026 as a punishment 🙂

Joking aside, they know the BBC doesn't run Glastonbury, right?

I’m sure that they know that!  They don’t want to stop Glastonbury they just want to fill the news up with stories like this to keep the real story as far down the order as they can.

And it's piss easy to do lazy anti Glastonbury stories that their readers/viewers/listeners will lap up.

The right wing columnists well be almost as gutted as us that there's no festival next year.

Contrary to the hopes of the pro Israeli lobby on here, stating that BV have killed their own career

Bob Vylan's popularity is currently experiencing a significant surge, marked by increased media attention, festival appearances, and a growing fanbase, though they remain relatively underground. Their recent performance at Glastonbury, where they led chants against the Israeli army and displayed political messaging, has sparked both controversy and increased awareness. This incident led to the revocation of their US visas and an ongoing police investigation.
