The state of the ground is done by @Sawdusty surfer …. First one will be in June . @deebeedoobee does a different one …. Can’t remember what it’s called though ?

We are fast approaching the time when everyone on here suddenly become experts in meteorology, soil science and agricultural drainage systems. 😊😉
anyway, last week the ground looked decent, we camped close to Pilton and the ground was pretty dry, tent pegs went in easily. The forecast looks good which is important for the build and all the movement of heavy vehicles.

I reckon the state of the puddle at Mary’s Gate is a good indicator.

the ground will be fine this year, its only very very bad when its rained non-stop since xmas, this year hasn't had much rain.

I'm willing to stand corrected but I could swear we've had a terrible first 5 months weather so far this year.

Was pretty dry until March. Then it rained loads.

They just slid in with a few gentle taps of a rubber mallet. Withdrawal was so smooth and easy leaving a thin film of moist mud on the full length.
