This kind of thread-killing drivel needs to be called out for the load of old bullshit it is.

Nothing unofficial needs to be disproved at all, because nothing has been proven. This is a speculation thread until it’s not, and as confident as some are in what other people have claimed, history proves that until it’s on the poster (and sometimes not even then), it’s rumour and hearsay

Pure and simple

Maybe Glastonbury have said to Dua that she can headliner next year because they've moved Taylor till 2024 and prefer not to have two female pop acts because it might upset some people on here.

I don’t think Dua and Taylor on the same bill would bother too many people these days. We only had one “guitar act” headlining this year and there wasn’t any fuss.

I can’t see the festival ever not having at least one rock/indie/guitar act in a headlining position, but there will certainly be years when there is only one.

Matt would of probably had the thread shut down the second he believed GnR were in if it was his forum.

Where as the discussion for this years headliners, he changed his mind on a weekly basis and pretty much up until the last minute believed it was Harry Styles with almost certainty.

So you would count a female solo singer who doesn't write any of her own songs but you don't count a band that has males and females if none of the females write the songs; even if it is a 20 piece band with one male member who writes the songs.

Melissa Reese has written songs for other projects but are you saying it only counts if the female has written songs for the act playing?

If guns n roses released one new song that has a Melissa Reese writers credit is that enough to count guns n roses as a female act? If not how many songs would she have to have credit on? Do these songs need to be performed live?

I think I agree with you about Pulp counting but many people wouldn't.

I don't agree that song writing credits makes the deciding factor easier

1. No because that's a male solo artist with a band.

2. Has to be for the band they are playing with yes. Most session musicians at least dabble with writing.

3. I covered this. A majority of what is performed so 50%.

Its kinda funny how uptight people get when some people suggest 'How about we have more diversity in music' or 'why don't we have more females topping the lineups'

It's Dua Lipa isn't it? And your belief in it is hinging on her being announced for Coachella in January?

Oh I hope so. Over either of Arctics or GNR, I don’t mind. Watched her Rock in Rio seton Youtube recently and it’s superb.

There will be people upset on here no matter what is announced. Just like the Internet at large. Look at the knots some people are twisting themselves into over it possibly being AM/GNR/Elton because something Emily said two years ago, even though she said something much more recently that was different and would entirely justify that trio being booked.

Well obviously something crazy could happen. Elton could die. Axl and Slash could fall out again. Obviously we don’t know who is headlining until we see them on the stage.

But if we are talking about who is booked right now… you need to disprove AM and GNR before any other suggestion is taken seriously.

Until the other two headliners are announced nobody has to disprove anything

Screams coachella this trio

Well they can actually afford it if they wanted to do that and not pay in exposure. I mean AEG is promoting Taylor's tour after all. Theyre getting some of that $500 mil. Cant wait in 10 days when theres all of the criticism On that line up even though it has a better chance of having more chances taken and such vs what will be at worthy in June.

It's OK, we've got the rest of the festival to console ourselves with.

What will be at Indio in April is of little concern to us.

Happy Christmas!

I’ve literally no idea what those last few lines mean.  Anyway…

Coachella as aways will suit its audience as will Glastonbury

I genuinely think he's drunk. I think he's saying that the coachella line up will be better and take more chances yet people on here will still not like it because 'reasons'. As he says a lot.

    • When are  the stage splits ??
    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
