Regarding sales figures, they've been a heated topic of conversation since I was a nipper (I'm in my 50s). It obviously was during the time of Elvis, the Beatles, Dylan, etc.

It's quite interesting looking through this list and finding the ones that you remember being a big deal in your youth...

I don’t see Blink 182 Take off your pants and jacket anywhere on that list… are you sure it’s accurate?

So how many streams does Modnights have now? Must be loads. Probably makes her the winner of the greatest artist of all time comp right? Definitely better than Blackpink, Bad Bunny and anyone else who’s ever played Coachella.

Shed loads and it looks like the end of Kanye West’s career is happening at the same time too.

She’s winning extremely hard right now. It’s remarkable. 2022 is her year.

Is that her album of Weller covers?

She's massive and I'm not denying that. I just find an obsession over sales/streams a bit odd for ANY artist really. Only people who should be caring about sales/streams are the artist and their label.

Exactly that. My favorite artists ever are Nick Cave, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar but I dont know a thing about how their music scored compared to their earlier stuff, let alone compared to other artists.

Sure, I compare their albums, make lists,... on how much I like them but why is it relevant to know as a fan how much an artists sold?

    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
