We dont even know how the Other Stage headliners would line up outside of the QOTSA  for friday.( at this point )

I feel like if the Other headliners are QOTSA, Dua and PSB it would be Dua against Macca. PSB against who ever else but if its the Mode' that throws it all out.

Can't see DM being in the frame really - only recently Dave Gahan announced a new album and said he hopes to do Soulsavers shows. Certainly no DM tour on the cards just now.

Its cover songs. He can do some shows early in the year and then the DM machine can take off. If there is a new DM album coming it’s probably more or less finished but Dave isnt going to let on right now one bit. Besides, they dont have announce anything in europe that far in advance, especially in Germany. It will all sell out in minutes.

Hey, what if they just ended up at BST lol. Still lots of spots to fill.

In the recent NME interview he said DM may reconvene next year to record. Doesn’t sound like they’ll be ready to tour next summer

That's the one!

It could well be that it's just something he'd like, as you said in your original post, but the Saturday night specific mention does add a little more to it.

I'm not convinced and I hope I'm right 🙂

Hmmmm. Covid even throwing them off their 4 year schedule this severely is surprising. I figured they would be ready to do what they have been doing for the last 20 years and go from there when the time was right.  At least we finally found a divisive headliner because theyre not up to whoevers standard somehow.

That's what made it stand out to me actually. It sounded like something Matt wasn't surprised to be asked.

Screw it, let them headline the Other stage and let Dua go sub on the Pyramid before Kendrick.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
