I have to say, the "exclusive performance" area is much better up in The Park than the anonymous backstage area they used to use.  I'd still rather they went to Glade, Avalon, Green Fields, Cabaret or any of the other under filmed parts of the festival.

I’m generally dead against them either way, would rather they just showed some actual sets from the actual festival. That one made me a bit sad though, looking out over that beautiful place.

I like The Charlatans. I like Tim, I don't think he's as cool as he thinks he is but I like that about him. I read his book and it was great. He's sporting some top dungarees there. I love a lot of The Charlatan's tunes.

They've been shit every time I've seen them though

Still struggling to comprehend that I’m sitting here watching Glastonbury on the TV and not actually there.

Yeah if I watch this all day along side work its gonna end in me having to get leathered tonight

3.3gb for the 75min REM set when ripping the first gig (also my first glastonbury headliner set, so absolutely made up to grab a copy).  Looks like I'm going to be clearing some hard drive space :s

Great idea. Let's all get on it. I don't really want to have to get the 5.1 stuff downstairs. Too much hassle. Radio6 is fine so why not iPlayer?

Done. Do we think they read tweets? Or are they just an output plug The BBC account?

Having my first drinks for nearly 3 months later. A load of us gathered here at various levels of drunkenness watching the Julien Temple film at 10pm sounds good to me.

Stopped Charletons and watching Primal scream,  scramadelica set which I walked through in teaming rain to meet freinds for U2 at the Pyramid after seeing someone in the Park I can't remember right now. Thought it looked and sounded great at the time.

Watching Sigrid I’d forgot about the girl at the front of the audience, obviously a top fan , she was in tears, dancing and singing along. Great to see someone so young who must have had an unforgettable festival , it’s what it’s all about.

I seem to remember a story of Sigrid spotting her afterwards and sorting her out tickets to meet and greet her at another UK festival!

Charlatans killing it on BBC.

"It" being my ear drums.

Fond memories of this set. Caught the end of it and had chosen a spectacularly bad time to pull my first ever Glastonbury 100% all-nighter (bar previous Sunday nights when there isn't anything on the next day). Was just about withstanding the heat at this point, but went back to my tent and crashed straight after. Luckily the wife found me and woke me up for Interpol.

Without wanting to get too far into the technical details ( I am at work just now, so cant get too involved) - heres the basics

There is a thread on here about downloading sets from iplayer (see link below) should give you everything you need - you need to download and install the get_iplayer software and you just run it (runs in a text "command line" window) - just paste in the command I mentioned and leave it to run (it will download the lot in MP4 format)

Yes I am not completely hopeless but not that expert in these matters, and i seem to be in the process of downloading over a 100 videos ........ my laptop is going to explode at some point! am transferring to an external hard drive. Give it a go 🙂

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
