Thing I loved about that video is that I've been having an amazing time doing stuff that doesn't make it's way to the BBC highlights reel. I just had a really intense flashback to being in the middle of the Chems crowd from last year.

Yeah I had that thought. A lot of memories in that but it's only the tip of the iceberg really.

Trust me, it was a cracker.

I remember being in the Pyramid field. I remember Owen putting us in front... All gets a bit hazy after that.

Atmosphere in that field was incredible though. That was the first night of my first Glastonbury.

First night of my second (first was '95). Haven't missed one since. Still one of my favourite things from Glastonbury.

Atmosphere was indeed incredible. More people watching it on the screens in the field than at the actual game. Imagine if we'd actually won it.

Wasn’t it a boiling hot day? We went out and it rained heavily (was this the three months worth of rain in six hours year it was that 05?) quite quickly after the shootout?

The big rain was 2005. Don’t recall 04 being too dramatic either way in terms of weather.

I got there on the Wednesday and remember having to put my tent up in wind and rain. The only time I've been in that position iirc.

Just noticed this 5 part audio book on the BBC

Glastonbury 50 by Emily Eavis and Michael Eavis

Glastonbury

A behind-the-scenes inside story of 50 years of surely the greatest of all music festivals, mixing testimony from its founder, big-name artists and journalists. Moving from the early hippy days, through to the politics of he 80s, 90s Britpop, and the expansion of the festival and controversy around performers from Jay-Z to Stomzy, this is a glorious celebration of the world's most famous festival, to tie in with what would have been Glastonbury weekend

The Cure?

They're my all time favourite too so I was heartbroken about missing them. Seen them three times now, including at another fest the week after which was an amazing night... but it wasn't Glastonbury. Made even worse by all the people talking about how amazing it was and how it'll go down in history as one of the best headline sets.😭

But who knows,  maybe in 15~ years we'll get Bob doing the legend slot 😂

Same as you both. My pals Facetimed me during the set and it was torture (but also simultaneously a really nice moment).

Flabbergasted that here we are, a year on, and I'm getting sentimental about that Cure set. Pornography never gets slapped on the turntable, yet this sgow has remained lodged in the memory. Granted that's partly cause its the last Pyramid show before the world went to shit, but it really was a special vibe.

Though we must also give it up for Stormzy, who grabbed the bull by the horns and wellied it into the stars.

And The Killers for putting on an all timer 😁
