Taskmaster's back on the 29th. I swear the gaps between series are getting shorter and shorter. 

Looking forward to this one. Reckon John Kearns and Fern Brady have a lot of potential this series.

They've also got new series of Ghosts this month, plus a series with short episodes with Dylan Moran and Daisy May Cooper has something new as well. 

I've just started Sprung on Prime, written by a geezer behind My Name is Earl and Kleo on Netflix (East German betrayal and revenge)

And if the gaps are still too long I recommend Taskmaster New Zealand (series 2 rap battle on YouTube is amazing). But the humour in general is a different style and pace, you need to get used to,

Never did give Detectorists any time. It bored me a bit when I watched the first episode but that was years ago. ‘Gentle comedy’ seems to be a bit of a thing now. Is it worth revisiting?

Think the Dylan Moran  and Daisy May Cooper things have been delayed because we aren't allowed to laugh at the moment. 

Hadn't heard of Sprung but used to love My Name is Earl.

Yes, Daisy May Cooper is 23rd now apparently.

Sprung is on that free Amazon service freevee, the Mum is fantastic and it has some sweet elements like Earl.

Mind Forward doc on Netflix.  WTF, things that may come to pass are both amazing and scary. Neuroscience and tech being put together. Fascinating.

Shantaram being released as 12 part series on Apple TV on 12th October. 

Can't imagine how it can possibly do the book justice. We'll see.

Half way through This England. Branagh is excellent at being Johnson but I’m finding the whole thing a bit bleak and unsettling. The hospital and care home scenes are really disturbing. The whole thing is a stark reminder of what we went through.

The Guardian claims it's incredibly sympathetic to Johnson. Is that your impression?
