YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME SO YE I DONT CARE WHAT YOU SAY..... BLOCKED

You are of course right that I don't know anything about you, in fact just about the only thing I can say for certain is you sometimes go on to forums and make up things about yourself for attention.

I bloody hope so. It's fine for me as I'm getting my second dose in a couple of weeks, but I'll be absolutely raging if my friends can't do anything fun this summer while the elderly and vulnerable people who got us into this mess are swanning around doing whatever they like.

If it's one dose, most will be done by 21st june, though I feel VERY short changed by this roadmap. I was looking forward to starting doing stuff next month because it was hinted we could. If he'd said "until you have a vaccine you will not do much" it would've set expectations

We've gone from getting excited about beer gardens next month to 24 hour fucking freedom passes. I still stand by the idea this will get fucked up somehow and there won't be enough tests, especially if it starts next month when in theory everyone under 40 could want two tests very regularly

I think you'll be able to go to the pub without these passports, but will need to be socially distanced. These passports are a ticket to not have to socially distance. You get a ticket if you're vaccinated (hopefully one dose), have recently tested positive or pass two LFTs.

Some pubs will be "passport pubs" where you need a passport but the pub can be packed out. Others will be non-passport and it will be more like the summer 2020 pub experience with 1m rule and face coverings etc

Read 9 pages of this thread after work tonight, think I could have comfortably skipped 90% of it. Just sniping childish messages for 9 pages! Wish we could get back to a few weeks ago where this thread was useful.

I hope you didn't miss this - game changing news IMHO. It means our main vaccine is still going to be able to stop the spread of the SA variant.

That makes sense - good points! It also has crossed my mind the last few minutes that this could be the plan for AFTER the rollout

Well maybe if the Europe bumming antifa on this thread behaved it wouldn’t be like this

I get you but if the government are saying its only "safe" with a 24 hour window then I'd be surprised if they allowed festivals to make their own rules

It had better only be one dose needed to avoid this though

They're saying pub's will be able to make their own rules and festies are little different

If your vaccinated you can catch the virus.

If your vaccinated you can spread the virus.

If your vaccinated you are almost certainly going to be fine.

All three of those statements are the same even if you haven't had the virus with an increased possibility of getting more poorly - but even that's unlikely.

So nobody is 'safe' from infection anyway!

It increasingly looks like you're way safer and less likely to be infected or infectious if you've been vaccinated. That's why R is continuing to drop in Israel.

Yep - all adults will be offered a first dose within a month of the reopening so these passports are more about removing anti vaxxers from society rather than age discrimination. Something I have no problem with.

Is it just me that seems to think this is the biggest news we've had in weeks?  Am I over-reacting @Toilet Duck?

All this talk of being back at square one can get in the sea, where it belongs.

It's not exactly surprising news though. Variant porn has always been much ado about nothing. The virus was mutating constantly since day 1, then we happened to get one game changing variant (in terms of transmissibility, not vaccine escape) and now we get media scaremongering on new variants every other day.

The idea that a mutant variant would emerge and vaccines would stop working overnight was always pie in the sky nonsense. The scientists who developed the jabs are better than that.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.

You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
