I get what you’re saying, but this is a Festival that very often books the same stuff as a decade ago, and acts that go much further back than that. I don’t think Elbow would be their first choice as sub in 2020 but if other options don’t come off they might get it. They have a history with the festival, they’ll break up the crowd before Swift and let’s face it, they’ll do it for a Crate of IPA. Given the overload of Arena/Stadium acts elsewhere and that one of the biggest Contemporary Acts in the world is on straight after, it might just make sense.

@Matt42's enthusiasm is a thing to behold. I can't fault that on any level.

I've certainly had a difference of opinion with him, my personal gripe being the discussion of things in absolute terms (also, sort your gold membership out you tight bastard ). But I'd certainly stand the lad a cider, as I would most people on here. And I'd like to think I've managed to get this far without mortally offending too many people.

There was always a rule of thumb that new posters would be given a reasonable amount of leeway before getting treated with the same level of contempt as the regulars do to each other, although sadly that does seem to have gone by the wayside a wee bit.
