2020 headliners

I feel like I grew up with Eminem and he will always kinda get a pass from me. His stick is bringing to attention the worst of society and rapping as a character. Unfortunately this is nuance lost on a lot.

I know he’s not good live so I don’t really have a desire to see him, however, his old stuff is still great stuff.

I can see why people don’t like him but I think there’s more to it than black and white shocking lyrics.

Eminem would be a devastating let down

I do kind of wonder if we're not all being a bit complacent (maybe that's not quite the right word...?) in the cast-iron assumption that's it's definitely Kendrick. I mean, I totally think it will be him too, but I have a couple of friends in particular who are already planning their weekend around his performance. The collective freak out when his name isn't on the lineup poster could equate to efests biggest meltdown.

For Kenny, Paul, Taylor to be mooted as a trio and bookies favourite months ago and Kendrick having a glasto shaped hole in his tour. I’d be shocked if it isn’t him.

Also there is a lot of external info, daily mail articles, tabloids etc, saying he is doing it.

I've been trying not to get too ahead of myself, but I think with his new album announced, dates with a nice gap on the Friday and someone claiming info that he's playing, it's too much to not get excited about!

Tbf I think they're all saying he's doing it because we're saying he's doing it 😝

Hey fellow Glastoers.

First time posting on this forum as it's quite intimindating the amount of different threads going!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would someone who has been ever present in this chat confirm whether they have at any point (recently) seen a comprehensive list of acts anticipated/very likely and also ruled out.

Please don't suggest i visit the website as i find that the people in forums are usually 90% correct in predicting lineups in these situations and there's always the hardcore veteran who knows a little more than others due to XP.

If you were kind enough to link it to me that would be cool but i am obviously not adversed to searching a thread or date range and i know how annoying it is when someone turns up 629+ pages in and asks the same question that 300+ people have asked so apologies if this is the case here.

If you don’t play his music your ears don’t get hurt.

His music is not the problem. His music is actually pretty good. Its his views and opening his trap when he is not singing that are the problem.

I don't think there's a definitive list of who is both in AND out knocking around. Neil's rumours page is your best source which you've been linked to by @Cream Soda. We're not organised enough to keep a big list of all those ruled out and in I'm afraid! Checking the "Stage Predictions" thread might be your best bet as the posters who put up their predictions are usually on top of all the goings on.

edit: this hasn't been updated since October but it was a start...

Don’t shoot the messenger but just seen a rumour of Eminem being the third headliner.

He’s a big name, has a new album and tour upcoming and as far as I know has never played so fits what we already know.

If it wasn't for the TV coverage issue (and I guess what's happened today) I'd say there's a reasonable chance. Has to be Kendrick now though, surely?

Out of interest when you say seen a rumour, Twitter sort of seen or someone 'in the know' has said something?

Guilty. Thought I'd be able to update the first page, but of course it's not possible after a few days, so people just add to it now instead.

Sorry dude - just realised that looks like i've called you out! Wasn't the intention at all - I'd never be able to manage updating a thread like that, so kudos for even giving it a go!

The inability to edit posts after a while is a real pain, any chance you can change that @eFestivals? Even just as a Gold members perk??

No, no not at all! Just thought I'd say why it wasn't really possible to have one long list on here that's all. If anything, I appreciate you linking a post of mine!

    • Can't speak for Dua Lipa's, but Coldplay's was vastly scaled down compared to their stadium production staging though, and tracks were adapted to reflect that. MOTS tour had a full walkway 30m out to the B-Stage in the middle of the crowd, and two C-Stages. Glastonbury didn't accommodate that at all and just had a very small walkway in front of the Pyramid stage, and (IIRC) a disconnected B-Stage.   Which re-enforces my point. Acts can adapt their stage shows if they really want. Most do, some don't want to. Glastonbury might miss out on the odd act that doesn't want to slightly adapt, but so will most festivals.
    • Oh wow, was sure they’d be playing this or trees.
    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
