Talking of bandanas, I saw that Mumford & Sons are selling ‘Gentlemen of the Road Premium’ tickets at £67.50 extra compared to normal tickets. For that extra money you get early entry onto the floor, a limited edition poster, a bandana, a pin and a tote bag. If that’s not value for money then I don’t know what is

Yeah but that means you don't have to sit with the povvos in the lower middle class. Upper middle and upper class only in the premium seats, don't have to worry about sitting next to somebody who's brogues cost less than a grand.

Rammstein headlining the Other ??? it’d be jawdroppingly amazing, but let’s be realistic here: no. They don’t often play festivals cos of the stage set-up they have. They’d have to headline the Pyramid, and I can’t see that at all. Shame: I’ve seen em 7 times and each has been thoroughly brilliant. Who needs eyebrows anyway?

It was my idea to have em on Arcadia btw, it’d be a magnificent melding of styles!

I wouldn't include Interpol in that tbh. Catfish? Yeah. Courteeners, Blossoms, The Vaccines, Bastille? Yeah. Interpol aren't really anything to do with those types of band, are they? Reckon they'll headline JP if they're back next year.

Yeah, fair point. Musically dissimilar, but both absolute stalwarts of the Other stage. And both unsuited to West Holts.

Enjoying the talk of NIN even if the likelihood is slim. The five songs i saw them do at Fuji Rock one year in the heaviest rain i’ve ever seen at a festival were spectacularly good. Left as my OH could stand the weather no more so desperate to see them again.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
