Corey Taylor, the US singer announces debut UK shows with solo band,

London Palladium, 17 Oct
Hull Bonus Arena, 19
Manchester BEC Arena, 21
Swansea Arena, 24

Playing arenas?! Suppose a lot of Slipknot/Stone Sour and general rock/metal fans will be up for this as I assume he’ll do a bunch of covers, but my god is his solo stuff terrible.

"Arena" is used a bit loosely here, that one in Manchester is about 4,000 capacity and it's a rebrand of the Bowlers Entertainment Centre which usually hosts genre weekenders and the like.

Pretty sure that those are Arenas in name only. Certainly in the case of Hull, it's a concert hall that they've named Arena for some reason.

Can’t get to any of these, sadly. Hope the arena tour gets announced sharpish, what with the lack of competing UK festival shows to worry about.

If Taylor isn't ready for Glastonbury next year then Arctics, Coldplay and Florence would be my guess.

Three repeat headliners? All just being white British "rock" bands? Yeah... no.

Still a female group in there. If you have Dave instead, you have diversity but a same argument.

Florence isn't rock in the same way and Coldplay are very much pop rock. It's not like having 3 Foo Fighter type acts.

    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
