I think you will find that Dee had the info first..

She's all of ours eyes and ears....

But the water I see it is that it's not gonna be say pearl jam playing the JP stage at 5..

If anyone remembers trying to get to the park when that idiot pulp bloke was on it was a nightmare.. Well if it was a massive band on the JP stage it would be worse imo...

Personally I do think any of you should bother going to see what is happening cos it's going to be lame and boring and nothing happening.. Unless the levellers are playing..

No I don't think they are but wouldn't that be great... Now I know they and Mr E fell out a few years back ............ Someone on here said so.............. But Mark is doing some solo stuff and the levellers were a big part of Glastonbury going back.. A bit like that whining geezer Billy brag and bands like HAWKWIND ect..

It's just a thought..

Mr E is collecting a friend to be at the JP stage for 5... To play or to watch...... Who knows.. Mr E does

You're not fooling anyone.

First we get the excited "It's happening" post and now you're saying that none of us should turn up to the JP.

It's Pearl Jam isn't it? ;)

Maybe someone else has suggested this but I've been to the BEST EVER Bearded Theory all weekend and guess who is playing at the same location on the 21st June. None other than Cliff (I'm not really dead) Richard.

With the (likely) reveal in the Next Announcement thread, do we reckon Status Quo is the big secret?

No.

A friend of mine works at a bar at the Park Stage and has just confirmed to me a big act that will be playing on that stage. This band wont be scheduled on the lineup to play I doubt. Probably big enough for this " Secret Act" also.

They also mentioned to me that there are a lot of surprises on the Park this year!

So, just caught up on the last 5 day's worth of posts. Top work everyone, other than no-one going for a hologram Elvis dying in the longdrops gag. All I can add is that about 100 pages ago it was speculated what SharpeOfSharpe's Tweet was on about, it was definitely The Temple getting a lot bigger (he sent me a pic but asked that I didn't share, sorry), I think that's already common knowledge though.

Is this friend a good enough friend for you to get the name of said act and post on here?..

Fleet Foxes getting around their exclusive at Latitude? Seem suited to The Park but not dangerously popular to risk a massive crowd.

That is rather disappointing.

So it completely guarantees that is the big secret that Emily was talking about.

Edit: Don't suppose he happened to mention what the other changes going on in the Common were?

I thought Park secret sets were a strict no-no now, I'd be very surprised if this happens again

Nope, just a pic off the bigger Temple.

That's a shame, although I don't suppose they would have started on the smaller stuff when he was up there.

Why would someone who works on a bar in the park know the secret acts?

Unless its someone involved in running the bar like Stonebridge or crows nest

That would make some sense. There's usually big acts to be found in those places over the weekend.

The Park stage on the other hand - I just can't see it. MDC raised their concerns in 2011 and unless they've figured out a way of keeping people off the hill they're not going to risk another big act.

I think it can be done. A start would be to not tell every man and his dog who works up there.

In all seriousness they have some big big names playing lower down on the Pyramid, if they were to go up against someone like Katy Perry I think it would split the crowd. They've shown with the libertines they can keep things pretty secret these days.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
