Worst act you have seen at the festival

Alt-J were boring me to tears in 2013 so luckily headed of fin time to see the end of Tom Tom Club at West Holts (Psycho Killer  ) which maybe added to my apathy about how bad they were. Saw them again do a night set at Sziget and they had more tunes but no stage presence whatsoever. 

Dolly Parton was a bit of a disappointment. The novelty wore off pretty quick and I realised what I was actually listening to.

Black Keys were also a bit meh for sub-headliners.

Didn't see anyone too bad last year. I was walking through the pyramid field during Ellie Goulding and it sounded shit from a distance.

That Radiohead park set still amazes me today, so many people turned up and waited, then left within 15 mins of them starting.  We were chilling on the hill and it went from the most crowded I'd ever seen to almost empty in a flash.

It wasn't a bad set either.

It wasn't great for a casual fan though mate. I didn't know any of the songs then it started pissing down, not a good combination. Aye, the hill emptied unbelievably quickly.

As I said in an earlier post though, a lad I know who's a big fan thought it was a good set.

skipped him next year when he was on pyramid and I rarely would skip anything Jack White-related

Think so yeah. Pump It Up, Love Cats too I think. They were taking the piss at that stage. Probably pissed up too. Emiliana Torrini was on before them who was the real reason I was there.

Side story - Met Gaz after a show in Ireland a couple of years ago and he said he loved the Dead Weather that day! I was like "yeah errr they were great". 

Side story 2 - Also spoke to Gazs bass player after the Irish show and he told me Gaz's current band got together up in the Park that day. A couple of them were in Emiliana Torrinis touring band so thats where they all met. "Gaz pays more"

TBF though following snoop was a toughie.

Yeah I mean Snoop had me buzzing, then they came on and it was just so flat, we were to the right at the front, no atmosphere, everyone by us just seemed flat, did move but just weren't feeling it.. I'd seen them a few years before and they were class, just put it down to being on the pyramid and after snoop.

Seemed ok to be for a blazing sunny daytime set Peoples moods or state of mind at the time do not help. Has the reverse effect too... could be a shit set but your so off your face or pissed you had a blast anyway and thought it was great

Totally dude, I was just so buzzing after snoop, and expected to enjoy them after, just didn't work for me that day, funny how I thought that was how the majority felt, but obviously not.

This happened at Leeds 2009 too rammed out to start with then shed loads of people leaving within first half hour......  field was very empty towards middle and back

Primal Scream before the Stones, should have been an open goal for Dear old Bobby but he decided to berate the assembled throng for waiting around to see the Stones. Went down like a lead balloon. Silly arse. If he'd just played the choons he'd have gone down fine.

Oh and Jack White, self indulgent noodling after a sublime demonstration of power by Robert Plant and Co.

I was dragged to see Jessie J when she played in a leg cast, I'm not good with years. The sun was shining at least.

I also walked through the field while Kate Nash was playing. I picked up my pace heartily.

Unkle headlined in a dance tent one year and I went alone. The guitar was too loud and everybody kept shouting as much.

Also the Vaccines on the Other a few years back. The wind got the best of their PA I think.

Unfortunately, Bobby did the same in 2005 when Basement Jaxx headlined on the Sunday. The band were rocking as usual, but he made an absolute arse of himself, to the point people were shouting "Bobby, you w*nker!" and variations of  He then started shouting at the crowd "do you want to see us or Basement Jaxx?". The crowd requested the latter, so he told us all to fuck off and threw a microphone stand at the front row, before being escorted off stage. Marvellous 

The worst set for me is hard to decide (I loved Gorillaz! There, I said it). Of the many headliners, Kings of Leon had zero stage presence, Springsteen was boring and NERD were pompous arseholes. However, after much deliberation, I think the absolute worse was a riot grrl duo at the Dog Faced Geisha Bar, calling themselves 100% Beef Cock or something like that. They personified abysmal, looked disturbing (lead singer was Miss Havisham on crack) and rank with Chicks On Speed at Hyde Park (who were bottled off stage) as the worst band I've ever seen.

Acts I've seen all the way through: plan b by a mile. Just utterly horrific in every way imaginable. 

Acts I just saw a snippet of: Newton faulkner or Jessie j. Only a mouses pube between them. Dreadful stuff. 

Honourable mentions: Jay Z. A bloke shouting at me about bitches for 90mins. Nice one. Also: Bruce Springsteen. So boring I developed a physical pain in my groin.

Kate Nash on Other & Viva Brother on one of the Silver Hayes stages (bands on during the day, DJs late afternoon onwards).

I didn't want to see either but just happened to be there.
