I've met people all around the world who have heard of Glastonbury festival. Who couldn't name a single headliner of the past few years.
Glastonbury will continue to sell out in minutes. It doesn't need to 'gain' anything. Its touted as one of the best music festivals in the world. It can't really go much higher.

The festival constantly trying to improve in every respect chief. Your response above seems hollow.

If it really is The Killers, I hope Mendip Council add a clause to the licence limiting renditions of Mr Brightside to one per ticket holder per day (not including Wed/Thurs).

This can be monitored by a chip inside the wristband, programmed to detect Mr Brightside on a Shazam type algorithm. Ticket holders will receive electric shocks every time they so much as hum that fucking tune, starting at 100v and increasing by 30v each time. On the fourth occasion, security are alerted and the ticket holder is unceremoniously ejected from the grounds.

Those who don’t hum or sing it at all are guaranteed a ticket for 2020.

Wow this will be really tough. I hate that song and I’m humming it already! I’m up for the challenge tho, those 2020 tixs will be mine...

I’ve had a thought...we’ve had info that suggests that both The Killers and The Strokes are headlining now.

Could it be possible The Cure are actually headlining the Other stage?

if my Killers info is correct then it's probably the case that the included info of the cure being the other headliner is also correct.

Yes, I think The Cure will probably headline Other and in the absence of anyone who disagrees, I think that’s the general consensus.

Anyone?

No?

Well OK then ?

Woah, hang on. So your info is Killers will headline Pymild but The Cure will headline Other?

So does that mean we’re still one main headliner down? Or have I missed who the third would be?*

*please don’t say banjo & the lads

EDIT: I’ve just realised your ‘other’ was lower case. Sigh. Carry on.

Careful with mishaps like this you might just make another Summerset Live news headliner again

We all thought that before - and then 2008 happened.

To book The Killers in 2019 would just look like bad fortune, but to have The Strokes lined up alongside them would look like bad policy.

Peeps would be cockahoop on 'ere if Mumfords were booked. "Solid, reliable, hung like a baboon" etc.

I heard rumours in 2017 that The Killers' JP appearance was due to them headlining the next festival, which now look to be true. I've also heard rumours that Macca and his people have been talking about headlining, but it's not this year, it's the big 50th. You have to remember that a lot of the big bookings are made far in advance.

What a rollercoaster the last 20 pages have been. I was so excited only to get to the end frustrated and disappointed (usually what my mrs says)

Never mind, I seen them in 2017 but no real need to see them again, there will be plenty to choose from.

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
