2019 Headliners

So the strokes are in Paris in July  to headline lollapalooza. Looking a bit more likely they’ll be on the farm if we didn’t know where they’d be already around that time.

Doesn't really change much, they already had European July dates.. albeit two of them but they're drip feeding dates

Not sure they'd be doing APE without other European dates in May, given that they do Governors Ball the week after. Would make sense to do that then embark on a load of European dates

I like Comedown machine, yeah, especially the last track. Tried the others a few weeks ago, after the recommendations on here, but couldn’t get on with them, they were all like a bit less good version of the first one. I’m not even saying they’re a bad band, just can’t get my head round them still being a thing and significant to headline in 2019

Although I have got that Bathroom book here on the ‘to be read’ pile. Maybe that will convince me of their significance. They just feel like also rans to me.

All of their sections are basically summed up with “we hate Ryan Adams and each other and Heroine is bad”

Hahaha. Oh god yeah. I suppose, on reflection, i’m just baffled by them being consdered as headliner material. I mean, i can’t stand the bloody Cure, but it is at least a booking i can understand.

So assuming The Strokes are playing a UK festival, where else does that leave them to play other than Glasto? Just APE/Hyde Park? Could they do a Finsbury Park date?
