Once again, my dreams of T'Pau playing are just china in my hand ?

you have the option of them at plenty of retro-fests if you're really interested? :P

(crap fact of the day: I once had a guy work for me who's girlfriend was Carol Deckers cousin, so he said, anyway)

That would be quite something to make up! ?

and yet I have a strong suspicion that he might have been making it up.

in fairness, this was back when T'Pau were a thing, and I did meet his girlfriend and there was definitely a Decker resemblance.

I reckon that poster's made by a 50 year old bloke, sitting in his skiddies with nothing better to do. It's 25% stuff that could possibly happen plus his own fantasy line up mixed in. He's got worse taste than me. Though I am a 50 year old bloke sitting in my skiddies.

which really only underlines how difficult a job booking bands must be.

I'd programme a great line-up for the first year or two, but then I'd be stuffed for ideas - and i reckon most people would be the same.

A Decker Double, if you will.

edit: Woffy beat me to it.

That sucks on so many levels.

No contest for me. WH is it.

Although I saw Macca last time and once (not at GF). So it's probably an easier decision for me. Plus I don't have to sit through new Macca tracks which I'm not really interested in, tbh.

I've set my heart of HC@WH, so it HAS to happen now!

I'm seeing him on Sunday night so in theory I should have had have my fill by the time June rolls round, but I'm a sucker for a huge event on the Pyramid and Macca will certainly be that. Besides, he's Paul fucking McCartney! A fucking Beatle! Realisticaly I'm going to have plenty more opportunities to see Hot Chip in the future than Macca.

Macca headlined my first ever Glasto, after 2019 I'm not sure how many more I'll do (tickets and a growing family permitting) so if this is to be the last one for a while I like the symmetry.

Macca on the Pyramid is a no brainer, but aye it's a painful one.

Please don't put doubt in my mind.

The clash is made painful by not only being Hot Chip, but on West Holts too. Perfect band/stage combo. It's like attacking a level 100 Dragonite with a level 70 Pikachu. Pikachu would be super effective, but Dragonite is just too damn strong for it to matter.

    • Have you tried Anna von Hausswolff yet? Great singer, and she's from Gothenburg so guess she'll be extra excited to show her skills, especially after she unfortunately had to cancel her early summer dates.    Different style, but Oklou for me was the highlight of Primavera (apart from Geese), really enjoyable relaxed music.
    • A few bigger acts that did other similar festivals this year but not Truck, wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of these (if they're touring):   Reytons The Streets Blossoms Sophie-Ellis Bextor Rick Astley Scissor Sisters Dizzee Rascal   Truck on the undercard seems to rotate a lot of it every 2/3 years, expect to see some of these (if they're touring): Yard Act Sports Team Sea Girls Pale Waves Fat Dog Peace Swim Deep Courting   Hope Westside Cowboy and Radio Free Alice are booked again and get some bigger slots next year
    • I read a reliable source saying there's not enough time to stress test and have worked through any major financial decisions between now and then.   So guarantees this budget will just be tinkering at the edges only.
    • Thanks @sisco. Looking forward to it!
    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
