So to those who went to Mecca last night, how was it? How's the voice, the band, the tunes?

Full house I reckon

Aye that's a helluva setlist. That final hour on the Pyramid is going to be next level shit.

I'm not sure what people think about this, but here goes - Fuh You is a banger.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion on this stuff.  Just not that opinion.

Would Hey Jude be missed if he didn't play it? Of all the acts that don't need to rely on 'a' hit, Macca has to be at the top. I mean, he could do another setlist completely to the one last night and they'd be recognisable to most of the crowd.

Suppose it's a piss break opportunity.

I concur with the above here. I'd also miss it.

Yes Macca has many better songs, but in my mind it would be like seeing Radiohead and they don't do Paranoid Android. It's not my favourite song of theirs and it's been done to death, but a Radiohead gig without "rain down" would be missing something.

Is it overplayed these days?  Beetle and the lads seem to be slowly drifting off the cultural radar.  The White Album reissue came and went with nary a murmur.

That said... it has 130m Spotify streams, but that's pretty paltry vs. something like Shape of You or God's Plan. Even Here Comes The Sun trounces it.

It’ll be wonderful when Macca does it, potentially a proper Glastonbury Moment.

Not so much when some random punter strikes up the umpteenth drunken rendition of it, staggering down the railway line a few hours later...

Tbf when some drunk randomer starts it staggering down the railway line for the umpteenth time hours later its still gonna be class.

They'll be super popular again when the holograms start touring.

I'll be quite happily singing Boy From School, while the day trippers are going mad for Macca.

Me too man. Tried my best to get into Beatles and Macca stuff since the announcement and I just can't. I seriously love The Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, which you'd think would be a guarantee I'd at least enjoy the Beatles, but massive swathes of their music just turn me right off. There's definitely stuff in there I can really enjoy, but it always turns out to be Harrison or Lennon stuff.

    • Considering how popular of a booking Scooter have been I think they'd go down well
    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
