Yeh, there is also that! But also yeh, for all I know he may have more than enough. I'm sure I read on here though that it only really makes sense if we go by the assumption that he'll have another album out by then.

I guess that's the thing about making an interesting "risky" booking though....you have to take the gamble. I just wouldn't want it to fuck up and make him look bad. I would be more than happy if the same thing happened to The 1975 though...

amen

1975 getting their reward for being humble and taking their spot third down the bill on the Other a couple of years back?

Urgh man, the realisation that Macca is going to close the festival and I'm sitting without a ticket gets more acute day by day.

I’d be surprised to see another all male pyramid headline set.

Wouldn’t 1975 be Other stage? Although recognise they are not the dancey alternative usually found there. Not bigger than LCD who did it in 2016. Or The xx in 2013.

The 1975 are huge. Like them or not. Definitely not Other headliners.

I seem to have missed the opportunity to put a bet on the 1975 as the odds have tumbled with all the bets being placed. Ive chucked some on Macca instead to go along with my gaga bet (im still thinking shes got a good chance)

The 1975 are definitely a big band but they could easily end up Other headliners. They're not astronomical, they're just a very big band. If you can have New Order, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, etc in that mould then The 1975 can still feasibly end up there.

Point is that The 1975 could headline any UK festival they wanted (where they were wanted) next summer. Therefore, they will not headline the Other stage at Glasto.

New Order, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, etc  will never top the Pyramid again.

Huge difference.

Saw them last weekend at Alley Pally, were bloody brilliant would love to see them at Glasto again!

Is it still just one of them doing the live shows? (I can never remember if it was Tom or Ed that said he was retiring from it)

It does feel like the market is diluted with Stormzy if someone wanted to see him they would have by now because he seems to play everywhere, thought he was great at fib but he was also at glasto that year and r+l year before plus many others. It’s a risky headliner booking but he’s also not a scarce performer like Adele or Ed sheeran

Metallica HAVE headlined every other UK festival and were lined up for the Other!

And they've sold a shedload more albums than  The 1975 to boot ?

That being said, the lowest slot they will have at G is subbing the Pyramid, and that's only if they're doing R/L as well.
