Not true.

It's been around long enough to include the glorious 2010 festival.

Does that mean you actually admit to cause and effect?

I reckon it's r@!ned every year since you started saying it would! :beach:

Ah, it's all to play for, on the days the sun is out it is baking hot.  We aren't getting significant rainfall at the moment, even if some of the nights are cold.  I'd be happier to see a bit more sunshine, but May has been kind to us on the whole.  Nothing to stress about just yet, I reckon.

While Nal is the doom man of this thread I do agree with him that long range stuff turned out to be nonsense last year, however if I remember rightly someone started posting a graph of what the main weather sites were predicting in the run up and as you would expect they came closer together the closer we got. I do also remember though that Accuweather was miles away from any other site in the run up.

Met Office updated long range:

UK Outlook for Wednesday 8 Jun 2016 to Wednesday 22 Jun 2016:

Currently it looks likely that generally settled conditions will continue through the first half of June. Thus we can expect a good deal of dry and bright weather for most, particularly in the northwest, but with a few wetter intervals mixed in, these potentially thundery. The temperature will most likely be a bit warmer than the June average on the whole, especially in the west and south. Then as we head towards the latter part of June there are currently no strong signals for any weather out of the ordinary, although there remains a small chance of more unsettled conditions becoming established.

So...from the guidance they have from their model runs it looks like the generally settled conditions may continue. There's obviously a small group of runs showing something more unsettled, and no indication of anything extreme (very unsettled, or very hot).

Out of all the threads on this entire forums this is the only one that somehow gives me anxiety. The ironic part I quite enjoy shows in the rain... But I open this and always regret doing so. Even the good weather reports scare me. This is a scary thread!

Being at a 'single' outdoor gig when it rains can be amazing. Any significant rain at an event with as many people, and over as long period as, a festival, with the inevitable ensuing carnage is nothing other than a fore for evil!

Just today I was remembering standing at the 3rd stage at Green Man in 2012 on the Friday watching the first act of the day in lashing rain. You couldn't see any punters' faces as they were obscured by their coat hoods pulled as far forward as possible. Meteorologically it really didn't get any better. By mid-Saturday there wasn't a blade of grass on site. The mud is one thing. Being essentially unable to sit down for 4-5 days is another! It's gonna by dry. I feels it.

    • Cool, if potentially completely exhausting, idea.
    • We don't have any choice but I don't need a t-shirt for it! 🙂    On the bright side, it gets it out of the way for a nice 5 year run... notwithstanding wars, new contagious diseases and apocalypse.
