From today's run we have:

Was like running on the M5 today. Low loaders, trailers, all sorts. Kicking up choaking dust.

 

* the trackway has arrived at ped gate A. Lots of beams.

* the red jib thingy has gone. Vanished. Vamoosed. No action by arcrania.

* the hardcore one the peri track at the side of the field behind the pyramid is so rough and dry, proper ankle breakers.

* one canapy is up in the Glade

* the temple is being built. Lock gates are there.

Cabling is being put up around the railway track for canapies and lighting etc.

* West Holts is well underway.

* they are working on Bellas bridge.

* no rain, none for days. Dry as a...dry thing on dry Sunday. 

* nice cup of roobosh going down well.

Yes. I was fobbed off with a “wait for our newsletter” kind of reply. Would be surprised if we were waiting long after the Mayday bank holiday though.

im only asking as this as been parked up for a few hours near where the other stage would be.

Some years ago now, the trackway staff would come and drink in the village pub. They were all drinking Fosters, but happened to see some locals drinking orange pints. Upon enquiry, we told them it was Cheddar Valley cider. It was being sold at £1 a pint as the barrel was left over from a wedding. The trackway lot decided they wanted to try this. We did warn them to take it easy…..they didn’t listen. Some very merry folks left the pub that night. In fact we could hear them late in the night outside the front of the Crown, playing a game of “he’s got a pineapple on his head” game. This involves, singing the lyrics and then attempting to smash a pineapple on the top of one’s head. If it smashes, you win. The road outside was covered in pineapple mush the next day.

Next day they were putting up the fence at the far end of the site, away from any long drops. Apparently it was carnage. Anyone who knows Cheddar  valley, knows the affect it can have on the digestive system if unused to its content.

I remember watching that last one and being so fucking jealous of the lads using their bodies for something other than typing and clicking a mouse, out in the open, in the sun.

Didn't show the times it was shitting it down on them, but it briefly felt like a wonderful way to live.

Nope. Green cab, Live on the side in white. It was parked at Red gate when we ran past it.
