Think you may have said you heard Adele was next announcement and I've added the Brit awards thing in my head

Ah, yes, we did have something saying Adele would be announced next, but not explicitly related to the BRITS.

I don't fully trust that info, but it does tie-in nicely with the idea of an announcement at the BRITS, so who knows?

Has there ever been a Glastonbury announcement at the BRITs? Not that it matters at all, there is no pattern. I assume it wouldn't take place in the actual award ceremony?

If Robyn is in Sonic it'll be a devastation, she deserves so much better than that

Ms R M Carlsson deserves to headline whichever stage she plays, I don't think any other stage would give her that. She would blow the fucking roof off, it would be amazing.

don't think there has.

But if there was, who knows how they'd do it? Perhaps it will be something for Adele to say on one of the many times she's likely to collect.

Thats what I was thinking, maybe in one her acceptance speeches she'll go off on a tangent a bit (which she often does) and imply that she's playing - then an official announcement could come the morning after? I think a little comment could be made as Adele seems to this 'down to earth, giggly cockney so she'll let something slip as thats part of her 'likability'

A few people on these pages have made references to 'ticking off' bands.

Some are saying that they are not a big fan of the artist but will watch them to 'tick them off my list'

Do that many really watch a band that they don't like for this reason? Really?

ive got a few bands that I need to tick off my list but they are bands that I love but have never seen live yet.I'd love the chance to tick them off my list and am waiting patiently.

Until then, Coldplay and Adele will remain unticked.

Awards ceremonies tend towards lots of post awards and behind the scenes chat/interviews, so you never know.  I'd expected something similar with Coldplay and then it ended up being announced in the morning, as with all things Glastonbury there is no pattern.

I only watch what I like, although always nice to be suprised. KASABIAN suprised me!

I don't really get this either. I could understand people wanting to 'tick off' legendary groups like the Rolling Stones, or even The Who or someone like Prince. But 'ticking off' Adele?? Really?

I don't think Ian Brown's attitude has changed really though Stu. It is John Squire who is the one full of shit, as seen by his artwork regarding the Roses reforming.

Bit harsh on him. When you've spent 15 years publicly being insulted and insulting the guy who used to be your best mate, you're going to be resentful. I'd imagine most people could not have foreseen their eventual making up.

The only 'ticking off' I'd want to give her would be to tell her to get off the bleddy stage so we could have a good headliner!

Pretty sure someone let slip they'd be playing in a 'mid-show chat with James Corden' a couple of years ago. Or something like that.

Hopefully when she collects her award she says 'I've got an announcement, i'm headlining the worlds best....... I can't do it.' Then proceeds to have a panic attack at the sheer thought of it, but then calms down and settles for subbing to Led Zeppelin.

My brain hurts.

I can't deny his new songs are annoyingly good. But it's more the undercard and everything else that's making me wince.

It's just a shame, it was my first festival 10 years ago and the headliners were Radiohead and Morrisey. Crazy

It was my first festival 20 years ago and the headliners were Pulp and Paul Weller...

I'll "tick off" massive bands that I've never seen and am unlikely to pay to see at their own gigs, especially when there's nothing else on I fancy seeing. I'll even see stuff I may not like on record just to see if they're any good live, U2 for example. Although they were shite on record and shite live.

I did this for The Who and didn't last very long at all. I don't dislike them but just wasn't feeling it at all so went to the rest of The Chemical Brothers (who I should've watched from the start). I'll never use 'box ticking' as a reason for watching a band again :(. Maybe Prince... but he won't ever play anyway :P

I think Alt J let it slip at The Brits in 2013 that they were playing.
