If that was true it wouldn't 100% rule them out still (not that I think they will play). A source who might know information about Blur gigs might not necessarily be in the know about a secret headline performance at Glastonbury.

Hey everyone,

This is quite a random topic to start on a forum but I am in desperate need for help. I am a fourth year student at Edinburgh Napier University currently carrying out my dissertation. I need YOUR help by answering this 5 minute questionnaire from your views from attending a festival when you have had a VIP ticket.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Just click on the link below :)

New post in thread, thinks its about Blur. Nope just another survey. At least the others have the decency to start their own thread so I can avoid them.

Hey Jaqui

You've clearly stuck this here by mistake rather starting your own thread but given the VIP angle, that may have been a good thing.

removed from the Isle Of Wight rumours page (were they were previously a SR if i remember correctly?). might've been taken off a while ago but not sure. surely makes them a bit more likely for Glastonbury what with BST not claiming them as an exclusive?

Never a SR I don't think but I totally missed that they'd come off when I looked before. It's not just a sudden thing that's been done so I'd guess that something says it's not them enough so.

Neil just mentioned in the Prince thread that he may have been a bit hasty removing them, so nothing to get too excited about just yet unfortunately. either way, if IOW get Prince or Blur as well as Fleetwood it's a big fuck you to Glastonbury this year

As you'll see posted in a different thread, it might be a big fuck you from them to Glasto but from Glasto not getting Prince it should be a big fuck yeah we avoided him!!!

I don't see that being the case, especially after John Giddings saying how you can never get one over on glastonbury

If they don't do the Sunday headline slot, anyone else find the concept of them doing a late / none announced slot opening the Pyramid Sunday afternoon immediately after the Dalai Lama entirely feasible?

why immediately after the Dalai Lama? so he can introduce them?!

are Blur not on a bit of a hiding to nothing here? that '09 set is well regarded because it sort of came out of the blue, and was all hits. people didn't know if they would have or would ever play again. now that level will be expected of them, if they don't reach those heights - and they inevitably won't because the circumstances are different - then it'll always come off less favourably.

plus they'll be playing new stuff, and everyone loves that.

i could still see them playing but expecting a repeat of last time is perhaps a bit on the hopeful side, i reckon.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
