So seems like next week is going to be great all week - sun sun sun - up until Wednesday night of the festival and then its clouds and thunderstorms. We're a week out on the current cycle. If only Glasto was next week.

So its going to be 2007 again basically.

I don't know why you're looking at Pilton Green (nr Swansea), but the forecast for actual Pilton on there is virtually the same. Ah well, the only way is up. And as Pedmills' chart shows, they are the only site suggesting it's going to be anything like that bad.

So someone in this thread is summarising all the websites to try to get an average and points out that accuweather is the only one against the trend and that's the one you choose for your argument?

Brilliant

this is Nal for you. I think its a kind of reverse psychology thing to fuck with the weather gods.

Either that or Nal really really loves the rain.

That floating map of the uk in the Albert Dock used to have a happy, smiling man jumping around on it giving jolly weather updates every morning.

I wonder what happened to that lovely chap..............

............lovely chap arrested in abuse probe.......... but I think you know that.

Oh, one thing I keep meaning to ask. Is the graph that pedmills is updating showing what's forecast over the length of the festival on that day? So on the 3rd the forecast was for no rain at all over the festival and today there's forecasts of varying amounts of rain from different places?

The local news here used to have competition "Where's Fred".

He gave clues and people guessed the town / place.

He hasn't done it for a while.

I used to post daily updates from the various (more reliable) weather forecasters. Thought I'd start again, so here goes:

J10: The NOAA charts are very promising in the run up to Glastonbury for settled weather. The Ensembles go for a settled period the week before Glastonbury, but will it last for the festival, the 7th/9th June runs suggest no, but today's suggest they might.

A long way off still, but the more patterns are starting to emerge time will tell if they are the right ones. However not the worst charts ever seen in the run up to Glastonbury.

GFS: Showers Wednesday night and Friday evening. Only covers until Saturday so far. Pressure looks good.

TWO: Dry (but only has forecast up to Friday of festival).

Meteox: Not in forecast range yet.

Meteo: Only forecasts to Wednesday of festival, but dry.

GFS Ensemble: Likely to be dry, with only a few outliers showing showers.

Met Office: No specific forecast yet, but "Generally settled with plenty of dry and fine weather likely across many southern areas".

ECM: Not in forecast range yet.

YR.NO: Not in forecast range yet.

Yeah I just add up the mm's of rainfall predicted for wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday and sunday of the festival.

As we get closer more websites will start forecasting over the period of the festival. On the 3rd we only had 3 websites, and they all forecast 0.0mm.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
