What is the point of this report?? Basically..."We're going to have LOADS of rain this friday" It would be slightly relevant if Glastonbury was this weekend!

Latest GFS (12z) looking a lot better than the last (06z), which always looked to be an pessimistic outlier when compared to the rest of the ensamble outputs.

12z ensambles have been published on netweather and give some degree of confirmation that the earlier(6z) operational run was a nasty outlier. So still not looking too bad ATM but I think we'll only start to get a clearer picture once this weekends LP system has cleared.

what if 175,000 people turn up with a handheld fan and aim it to the clouds

I've been saying for years that the Eavii need to do what the Moscow government does here before the Mayday parade every year, they send planes up into the clouds and spray them with chemicals to make them disperse. It's guaranteed gloriously sunny here every year for Victory Day. It's scientific progress.

mind you, I'm not sure what the environmental angle is on this.

The festival should be in late July, not June. What is the reason for it being now?

Statistically Rain fall amounts in Somerset are no different in July than they are in June and only very slightly lower in August.

Someone did that for a concert?

Edit: yes Paul McCartney in Russia

I'm all for it #FuckTheClouds

Are the chemicals made from gay people?

I see he's ditched the 1-10 mudbath/dustbowl ranking and introduced a one-man poll. Revolutionary.

He's basically saying "weather will happen", but I'm also more optimistic about this one than recent forecasts.

Seeding the clouds ahead of the event soviet style is totally the way to go, along with rows of mirrors and magnifying lenses to cloudburst anything within a 10 mile radius. I reckon that should about do the job.

Every time I've ever read any suggestion of using cloud seeding it has been discounted as too expensive and difficult (it's been seriously discussed with regard to olympic opening ceremonies in the past), but as Mardy says, the Russkies have been doing it for years.
