because they've chosen to play gigs elsewhere over Glastonbury weekend and aren't going to do 3 nights in a row.

if they were playing, they'd have left a proper space for a Glastonbury gig.

You their manager, doctor, bank manager, maybe a parent?

Who says they can't do 3 nights in a row? They have the monday off. and the tour ends about 10 days later

Not out the question

I not saying FM is happening or very likely. But its still possible.

Keep them coming kids!!!

Can't see Florence headlining. Doesn't have enough hits to carry a headline slot. Sub at best. If she does headline then Glasto really are scraping the barrel.

If the album sells well, can see her potentially headlining 2016. Florence is V headline material at the moment. Will grab some headlines until everyone realises they know about 6 songs and have to wait until the end to hear Dog Days.

Dinner party music.

I will say it again and again and again metallica is not a special case, exclusives are not necessary exclusive. Look at Damon alburn, the strokes, pulp..... or more recently bastille, festivals claim to have an exclusive for them to turn up at other festivals.

The Strokes were an English exclusive and played TITP. Pulp were a North England exclusive and played IOW.

Scraping the barrel, or bumping up a suitable act to increase an ever-diminishing pool of headliners; a move that'll probably give her a massive boost and turn her into an even more massive act, like they did with Muse and Coldplay.

She also won't headline next year. Glastonbury never gets headliners on their second Summer touring an album.

Subbed R&L off two albums so unless she subs someone amazingly huge (can only think of Prince) she's a headliner & probably decent booking for most, The Sun is already hyping her off waffle they've heard. She'll be nabbed by R&L to headline the year after for the end of her album tour.

Edit: headlined Bestival too which may equate to acts around the sub size at Glastonbury or Other headliner (see Dizzee Rascal, Pendulum, The Prodigy, not Stevie Wonder)

This. Probably helps that Glastonbury is earlier on in the season, enough time to world tour for a return in August.

Plus the BBC footage will help her shift arena & possibly edging stadium shows.

At the risk of creating a whole new debate, maybe, just maybe the Prince idea isn't that far-fetched for this year? Allegedly the whole reason he never played last year was because it was leaked that he was at least interested in playing. Apart from the Lionel Richie announcement it's been unusually quiet from the GFL office so far.

It's highly unlikely I'm sure but a nice thought nonetheless.

I think it is what a fair number of people are pinning their hopes on. After the last couple of years of nonsense and then finding out that last year WAS a near miss in getting him, I think no one dares hope too much now it starts to seem more realistic.

    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
    • I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out
    • Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.
    • I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
