The fact that Neil refrains that Glastonbury doesn't offer as much for their headliners as (lets say) reading and leeds would?

I can't see any of that trio being pissed at the fee, therefore Glastonbury wouldn't have to shell out a greater portion of money for one act, meaning that they have more money to spend on acts that aren't headliners.

Yeh why would flo take a lower fee? Coldplay only made that offer due to having extreme wealth thanks to being the Biggest Band In The World.

Flo is nothing like in their position (although admittedly her massively posh and wealthy family probably have a higher net worth than coldplay)

so you mean they will be offered the same amount of money as any other headliners ever are (the stones excepted), meaning the undercard will in fact be exactly the same as any other year.

I can imagine flo being more of an act that's desperate to say she's headlining glastonbury.

I don't think she's big enough, or has enough autonomy to only chase the big paycheques... I can't see her ever turning down the offer to headline glastonbury... ever.

It's conjecture but I doubt the stones are the only headliner that glastonbury has shelled out for, too many acts have headlined glastonbury that would probably want a bit more than the standard fee.

well no, it wouldn't, because it's not a standard headliner fee.

fees will be negotiated and bands will have their own standard fee, and that will budge based on a variety of factors.

in some cases Glastonbury will be able to match that relatively easily, or in other cases may have to work to a compromise.

as such there are probably plenty of headline level acts who were approached/had talks but subsequently didn't play.

if it was just "here's the headliner fee", then booking headliners would be a piece of piss.
