To be fair, if anyone actually seriously thought he was in that slot, then they got what they deserved.

decades ago, when Ton Jones first played ('94, was it?) in a guest slot, a number of people had been on the front of the barrier all day waiting, having convinced themselves it was one of Prince or U2.

I don't know what Paul actually does with All Day because it doesn't sound like anything he can actually be involved with but he's credited.

He came up with having "n***a" through out the song while they was writing it, but he was really just being racist in the studio.

Maybe Rob Da Bank's just gone 'fuck it, this whole not repeating headliners lark is too difficult, let's just repeat all 3 this year, why not' and Florence and Chic are doing Bestival

I'll be honest. No matter who I was expecting on stage, if Tom Jones turned up as a surprise, I'd still be pretty happy with that result.

I was in my tent when the opening act were about to play. I remember looking at my watch and realising that I'd managed to miss the first musical act of my first Glastonbury and cursed myself briefly before the first song started, I realised who it was, and celebrated the extra hour of sleep.

My plan was to go to the Other stage on the off chance it wasn't Kaisers, and then as soon as I found out for sure it was them, head over to Jonny Greenwood. Then i ended up being so deep in the crowd that when the backdrop came down and I couldn't be arsed to fight my way out of the crowd and then get back in afterwards for Blondie, so stayed. They were entertaining, to be fair.

I'd say it's either completely valid, or not at all.

On the basis that it was said at the end of last year's fest, I'd ignore it. It's almost inevitable that whatever Michael has said then is later proven wrong by other things which get said or revealed.

But it might have been said with full honesty at the time it was said, as loose plans can get made that aren't followed thru on.

From Scott's interview with Emily, it doesn't sound like Michael is really that close to what's going on with the bands these days.

Bowies health has been relatively poor for 12 years.

Apparently he's in rude health according to his inner circle (errr, his producer Tony Visconti), he just appears to be following a similar path to his idol Scott Walker. Think we're more likely to see Scott than Dave though. Edited March 4, 2015 by Mandroman

William Hill reopened last night but then closed again soon after. don't think any others are open at this moment in time
