He's on All Day as well.

FourFive Seconds is Rihanna's though. I don't like that one but the others are good. Only One is lovely.

Ahhh I actually haven't heard that one. FourFive Seconds is alright (possibly ruined for me by being overplayed) but All Day just isn't my cup of tea in the slightest.

There's an alleged tracklist for the new album that says Mccartney's on one called "Heaven" too. Probably not legit though at this point. I remember there were tonnes of fake 'leaked' tracklists for Yeezus.

I love it already!

I don't know what Paul actually does with All Day because it doesn't sound like anything he can actually be involved with but he's credited.

It could mean anything, really - including that he thinks he's managing to out-do them this year.

He's still got a headliner to announce, and I reckon only then will those words be seen in their proper light.

Why the late announcement this year for that 3rd headliner? Maybe it's Prince, and he's got the bands Glasto would like.

Considering the Foos turn down iow. May have just been a passing comment that it's easier for Glasto to get headliners

With Libertines not being an "exclusive" for R/L whereas all their other headliners and some bands have that tag in some form (although some have proven to be wrong), one would assume they are playing another festival.

Iow, Glasto and do BST still have days to announce?

I didn't even notice there was no exclusive on them. I'd be surprised by two outdoors London shows two years in a row and the fact Reading isn't that far away. It would at least have to be like Green Day and put on sale earlier.

I would suspect they'll turn up at Glasto one way or another. They certainly won't be at IOW.

I'm intrigued by this...clearly it means the Libertines are doing something else. Headlining the other stage maybe?

Apparently he whistles on it...

No idea either, I've not actually listened to any of All Day/Only One/FourFiveSeconds outside of tv performances yet, so I'm not really sure what I think of any of them.

Mumford & Sons playing a Scottish date, so Festival Republic put a "english exclusive" tag on them. Still no exclusive claim on Libertines

I was about to say, FR are very tenuous re: their exclusives. I think Pulp were a 'North of England' exclusive or something stupid in 2011.

So what does this mean?

That they're quite likely to be playing somewhere else in England. Unless FR have just let it go given they're playing quite a few festivals in Europe this year.

I wouldn't put it past them to be at Glastonbury though.

EDIT: Oops, see above!

That no exclusive claim has been put on The Libertines so are likely for more live dates / festivals in England this summer

Sorry I should have been clearer - I understand that I'm just wondering what you guys think might actually be happening. IOW/Glastonbury? Something else? They're not pyramid headliners though, surely?

Would they really be that out of the question as pyramid headliners, they're headlining TITP and Reading, they're very popular with the nme/lad rock crowd and I'd imagine would pull a similar crowd to kasabian. I don't think they'll play but if they do I'd imagine it would be headlining, don't see why they'd accept an other headliner slot.

I just can't imagine Reading and Glastonbury sharing a headliner (although that might just be me being a bit closed-minded..)

Well I dunno, there's more crossover between the festivals than one might assume (Foos, Mumford, Arctics, kasabian etc.) - I guess FR likes to go for exclusives or "sort of" exclusives so that's probably why the two don't normally share headliners in the same year.

Doubt Libs will headline this year though, what with emily's comments on Foos being the only rock band and them playing a lot of other places that no doubt offer more money (if less exposure).

I think that is a good point. Reading and Glastonbury don't normally seem to share headliners on the same year. Has this happened in the past?

Just seen that Klipper has made the same point above

    • People seem to have got obsessed about 'secret sets' at all festivals this year even when there aren't any spaces other than, in EOTR's case, the usual late Folly sets that 90%+ of the time are from artists who are already playing.
    • To be fair @Superscally barely mentions the running thing. Very quiet about it 😘
    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
