I think Rihanna would work - she is one of the bigest 'popstars' in the world atm

I wouldn't see her (and i'm sure a lot of people on here would) but it would provide some massive exposure for the festival as all the papers and radio 1 especially would go crazy over it

Rihanna is not far off the bottom of the barrell shite performance wise. "Sings" a few lines, stops - points the mic to the crowd - sings the odd line.

But she has more tunes I'd recognise than most other pop acts.

Has more of a "fuck you" attitude too, which I like.

you've been speaking a lot of sense recently will

Haven't I always been speaking sense russy?

No actually I joined these forums when I was 13 and a bit out of my depth and out of the wavelength of the people on the forums. Now 17 I think I'm a lot more understanding of good quality contemporary performing arts.

this thread....I sometimes wonder if the glastonbury and V festival forums have switched places..

Headliners are shit this year hence this thread is also shit. 700 odd pages of the dullest acts on the planet. Repeatedly.

Meanwhile other good acts are creeping into the rumours page.

Yeah, absolutely right -- Glastonbury gets so very little exposure and deserves so much more...

And just what we need, Radio 1 going crazy all over it...

Amen, brother.

Ever since she upset that farmer in Ireland by flasing her udders at his cows, Rihanna has been out the running

*Probably

That interview with the farmer on BBC news still cracks me up to this day!

Just a passing comment, if Emily is right and says that the entire lineup is nearly booked. How exciting is it that we are in the dark and nearly 2,000 acts have been booked and I doubt we can even name 50 names that will (very likely) be there!

I'm going to choose to believe bigbilly from yesterday - mainly because he seems to suggest Blur to headline the Saturday, which I would very much like to happen.

As for who the Sunday headliner might be - massive and never played before (or never headlined before?) It's too much to hope for the Stone Roses, Fleetwood Mac would appear odd and I hear they are definitely not playing. Just hope it's not Queen...

queen with that whopper from america are brilliant!

Surely Fleetwood Mac don't have much chance if both eavii and them have ruled it out

I reckon Kanye could qualify as a the "not rumoured" headliner (as he wasn't really discussed at all as a viable option until about a week before the Brits if i remember correctly)

Anyway, I'm sticking with Foos, Yeezy, Swifty as my prediction, bit poppy and no british headliner though.

Yep, that's the idea I'm sticking with.

While I don't think it impossible that Mick Fleetwood would lie by saying they weren't playing when they were, I don't think that Emily would go along with it. It would require her to deliberately lie to her 'customers' in an attempt to make them spend their money on something they wouldn't need to spend their money on, seeing Fleetwood Mac at another location - and it's not like they'd be any benefit to Glasto from doing that, either. Only Fleetwood Mac would gain from that.

So I just can't see that happening.

It seems a bit odd that someone who's been a member since 2009 with so many posts would suddenly decide to take up trolling. But then if he didn't imply Blur I'm not sure I would have paid him any attention

Just because someone posts something and it might later be proved wrong doesn't mean it's trolling.

It'#s perfectly possible for someone to be told something is true when it isn't, and for them to believe that thing is true.

Something much like that recently happened with me.

True I suppose it's just the nature of the beast.

Neil, from a personal point of view do you have any prediction on when the line up will be released? I know Emily has said April so would an educated guess go for the same week as last year?

PS: just joining up some dots in my head, and letting you peeps in on it....

Someone has contacted me with some info which he claims to be from an excellent source. They've been in touch in the past, and that previous info stood up.

While I won't say here what they've told me they did get in touch at one point, specifically to tell me it wasn't Coldplay after I'd said it was. I foolishly dismissed that at the time, because of my (misplaced) confidence in my Coldplay sources. Within what they've told me is that Fleetwood Mac are not playing.

Along with all the other "it's not Fleetwood Mac" stuff from Emily, Mick Fleetwood, etc, it's going to take a very well placed source to convince me that it is them.

    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
