Do we know who is playing on Wednesday?

The email says:

· Primavera Sound Barcelona will hold its main events from 4th to 6th June, but the opening day, the closing electronic music party and a parallel programme yet to be revealed will extend it to a whole week

Which I guess means this poster is just for the 3 main days.

I suspect they are including the Wednesday headliner in these names, just not yet announced (maybe they want to wait until the day splits)

I think so, too.

GO! This lineup announcement officially kicks off the race to Primavera Sound Barcelona 2026, which will hold its main days from 4th to 6th June. And there will also be the opening day on Wednesday, the electronic music party Primavera Bits (featuring Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, BLOND:ISH y Greta) on Sunday and a parallel programme yet to be revealed, which will make the 24th edition a whole week of music.

I read it as "only" Ciutat is missing and the Wednesday headliner is on the poster.

Yeah very possible. didn't we have to wait a while for the day splits and Ciutat last year? I imagine it'll be the same this year.

Without reading every small print, The Cure, Carl Cox and Ashnikko. As before though, they've got The Cure but the rest are sub, second stage headliner level are major festivals which is where the festival is at right now. Is almost makes Lorde I'd say a stonewall booking for Werchter and given the lack of clashing between the festivals I wouldn't need any of the other headliners there. My guess is potentially Lorde wanted headliner here and it wasn't offered currently.

First thoughts for me. Not so impressed by the headliners, actually not at all.

Maybe the only name that really fits my music taste is the XX.

That said the subs and overall program is high quality as usual. Slowdive and MBV are really a great touch.

So, another great lineup, although i’m not so sure this will sell that well and fast as the last edition. I can see some people holding on for other festivals to start releasing some artists.

One thing is sure. Whoever is going will have a great time as usual.

Are you serious? For me personally this is the best lineup for a long time. I'm crying right now, so happy. Couldn't care less about Tame Impala, saw them twice at Primavera, were ok, but that's that. Soooo happy they're bringing back Kneecap. Saw them at the Apolo this year and it definitely ranks in my top 10 gigs of all time. Other highlights: Peggy Gou, Slowdive, Carl bloody Cox!!, Wet Leg (sadly could get tickets for their sold out show in my hometown and missed them last year due to clashes so really happy they come again a year later), Pinkpantheress, Lambrini Girls, Viagra Boys, Blood Orange, Father John Misty, A Guy Called Gerald, These New Puritans... I could go on. Saw Massive Attack and Gorillaz several times, but I like them enough to want to see them again and have never seen the Cure, so really excited. My only problem are going to be the clashes. 🤣

As i said this is very subjective to my music taste. I don’t listen to Massive Attack, Gorillaz, Doja Cat and The Cure.

So this is my point about the headliners. Of course for people who like those bands this will be the best lineup ever.

And i said the subs are high quality as usual. Big Thief, MBV, Slowdive, Father John Misty and Alex G, all amazing acts. But comparing with this year, even these level of artists were still better this year (Idles, Fontaines DC, Los Campesinos!, Stereolab, Turnstile, Caribou, LCD Soundsystem, TV on the Radio and more and more.

So i’m comparing with this year’s lineup. And to my taste it was better than this one.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
