In previous years, I think The Who were a bit left field and last minute, and Florence bumping up when Dave Grohl broke his leg was also a late surprise.

The Who booking sounds like it was an absolute last resort due to other stuff falling through.

No idea who/what happened, but I'm fairly sure they had to cancel some gigs in France or something only a few weeks before they were due to take place. Not G's finest hour

There’s always a surprise. I doubt anyone expected Coldplay last year.

coldplay were rumoured early .... was Roughbloke if I recall ( might be wrong)  but gave me enough confidence to make my hat early ) so really appreciated from me

If the “info” on Stevie Wonder was made up, then I hope the offender falls down a long drop!

I have no reason to believe it was made up. It seemed to be a credible rumour at the time and is still a possibility. Just seems to have lost a bit of traction with other rumours taking over for now.

Is there any difference between a “regular” Glastonbury and one before a fallow year? I’ve seen conflicting info about it being business as usual or a bigger festival due to the gap after? Does that affect headliner decisions?

The Stevie Wonder 'rumour' was in the bloody papers, so it's a bit stronger than a random bloke making it up on t'internet.

The Newspapers, famously all completely well sourced bastions of honesty and integrity.

The majority of their Glastonbury predictions come from sites like this and the Discord!

Maybe because a minority in discord also indulge in orchestrated wind-up operations when it comes to efests. It doesn’t exactly lend credibility to the community when you have to remember that the discord community contains bad (and very boring) actors.

There's nearly 4k on there, there's going to be the odd wrongun. This place is not immune from the bolded.

Shakey would be a seriously good booking.

Any word on who is backing band will be?

Shakin' Stevens?

I don't know much about Neil young so had to Google this to check that it's actually his nickname.

Still, Shakin' Stevens anyone?

Clarify that I know he didn't actually mean Shakin' Stevens

We were told about the Who at the Emerging Talent Contest in the April, Neil was sat there and heard it too. It was discounted at the time due to the French bookings already in place.

Same thing happened with Elton, albeit much further in advance. French promoters must hate Emily 😬
