  1. Just something I've been working on, might be useful to some people. Primavera.xlsx
  2. These posts are getting a bit boring now. Not the best Primavera line-up, not the worst, but every year I make an effort to listen to every artist on the line-up and every year I discover new great music at least. Explore the under-card, no one is forcing you to go either.
  3. Has anyone typed up the line-up into an Excel or Google doc format yet? I usually do to make a chart of "Must See / Want to see / Would like to see / Would watch / Not interested" but haven't had a chance yet.
  4. The thing I find with Primavera is while I generally like to love most if not all headliners, and love the under card, it is also the best festival on earth for discovering new artists. Every year without fail I listen to every artist on the poster - and every year even if I don’t go I discover new artists I like. Also saw QOTSA tonight and they were great. Find it crazy Primavera pushes in new directions in terms of mainstream audience but continues to reject established acts like QOTSA/Smashing Pumpkins etc. The point of the festival is a broad church.
  5. Taylor absolutely is not headlining. Dates work and that is it, nothing in the realm of possibility suggests she is headlining. Just as likely to have The Beatles / Led Zeppelin co-heading. However, I probably won't rule out maybe she does Dressner a favour and perhaps comes out for The Alcot. Very, very, very unlikely but not impossible.
  6. Hope Madrid people are managing to enjoy it despite the problems! Just checked and 90% of places don't even have bookings open yet, must be some random algorithm with three-star hotels asking for €8,000 for a week a year in advance. Just seen a 3-star rated apartment asking for €27,000 for the week! I booked a couple weeks before this year and around poblenou there were a couple of places for around €1400 for the week available. Hell I remember the travel lodge there having space and was around €1300. Personally I like to book around Placa De Catalunya; good central location for the city, and if you're the east side you're close to the yellow line by jumping on at Urquinea.
  7. It wasn't even that bad two weeks before Primavera this year to be honest. Have you got a filter on for 1500+?
  8. Won’t be Tame, too soon. Won’t be Arcade Fire, too sexual assault-y (honestly I’m their biggest fan so I’m more annoyed than anyone. 100% they would have played this year if that story don’t come out, or more importantly if he didn’t do it). Won’t be RATM, just can’t see them coming good on that European tour. Their cancellation didn’t even hint at “I’ll heal up and be back” it was moreso “cancelled. Never mind ey lads?” Maybe NIN? Honestly who knows what Trent’s plans are. He could do a few festivals next year, or not perform at all. It’s a bit up in the air. Maybe Vampire Weekend? I think they’re quite under rated to be honest, and I haven’t followed their activity outside of their albums; are they close to finishing a new album and due a tour cycle? Good chance of The Cure, been well loved at Primaveras past and are booked for Buenos Aires edition.
  9. How bad exactly is the weather in Madrid? Some of the states UK festivals get in and they rock on. It would probably take a borderline biblical atrocity by God for Melvyn or the Eavis’ to cancel a festival.

    The churnups

Pulp put on what is widely renowned as one of the best headline performances ever. It’ll be a cracking and popular show. Blur are still amazing live and one of the biggest and most important British bands of the last 30 years, and this current live run is spectacular as someone who seen them two nights ago. All three would get massive reactions. Also to put the cat amongst the pigeons Blur are magnitudes better than Oasis who are just a 90s Mumford and Sons. Sorry not sorry. (I’m also fully aware a Oasis reunion would be the biggest tour in the world, not denying their popularity)
  11. There were specific bars at the festival you could spend the credit at. Alternatively if you don’t spend it then it gets refunded after a few days. Weirdly I attended Black MIDI and BCNR but only have 10€ showing…
  12. It ended up being a Thom Yorke x Matt Bellamy x Jarvis Cocker DJ set which was pretty neat
  13. Some really really really great sets this year. I get some people were all poo poo on the line-up but there is more than enough variety and everyone here is happy with a few things, so it’s just great vibes everywhere on the site!
  14. Only complaints this far is the sound bleed between stages and some of the act placement. Cupra/Brugal/Amazon is a bit of a nightmare -//- As is boiler room plentitude -//- And that techno place at the back of Mordor for the people in the back. Didnt Antimon come on late and just decimate the heathers to the point they had to stop and wait? In regards to stage placements Built to Spill was a bit silly on Dice. My friends had a couple others they thought there either over or under sized for their stages.
  15. ….any tips to get an emergency dental appointment in Barcelona?
  16. Left before PSB, but heard about the tram accident very briefly from friends who were there. They were shocked and light on details. Hoping for the best. Tragic.
  17. My Ticket -> Credit only 10€ showing currently, should be 20€. what’s the craic with wi-fi at the festival? I can’t remember if we can access it or not
  18. What time until? Might try to get down in an hour or two.
  19. Checked into the hotel. Bloody knackered, on the go since half two. Will have a power nap and watch Succession before Black MIDI tonight. Also forget my electric razor. So any tips of places to get a beard trim in a couple days time; please recommend!
  20. Yeah I love Lana but the heavy reliance on the tape track, and also the heavily cut songs really annoy me. Still think her live sets are incredible don’t get me wrong; but they’d be something special if there was more of her singing and also full songs rather than fitting as many as possible into the space.
  21. Highlighted my must sees in bold. Aware this is stacked and I will be missing a good few, just trying to ensure I always have “something” to see. Couple of the acts would be must see but I’ve already seen them recently / will be seeing them individually. Mon/Tue: Black MIDI / BCNR Thur: Antonin -> Heather -> BCNR -> built to spill -> Ghost -> Pusha T -> NxWorries -> new order -> self esteem -> le Tigre -> blur -> the comet is coming Friday: The Beths -> soul glo -> japanese Breakfest -> sparks -> depeche mode -> Alvvays -> Kendrick -> Christine & the queens -> Yves Tumor -> unwound -> Daphni Saturday: DOMI & JD Beck -> Wednesday -> Arlo Parks -> Be your own PET -> St Vincent -> the war on drugs -> jock strap -> death grips -> yung lean -> JPEGMAFIA For me the worst clashes are: Self Esteem v New Order (painful) BCNR v Arthur Verocai Built to Spill v Yard Act shellac v Delgados v Japanese Breakfest Depeche Mode v Moldy Peaches v Beak v Karate v Alvvays (this one is bonkers arrangement on their part) Kendrick v Bad Religion v Bleachers Arlo Parks v John Cale v Be your own PET St Vincent v Gaz Coombes v The Voidz v Maggie Rogers (silly scheduling, nonsensical) Some of the clashes I can understand. Either very little overlapping fanbases, or for the purpose of crowd control. But some of clashes some absolutely malicious. That Built to Spill v Yard Act one for example, neither are massive acts. And the St Vincent/Gaz Coombes/Voidz/Maggie Rogers - their fanbase ven diagram is just a circle ffs, and none would cause dangerous over crowding. Einsturzende Neubauten aren’t playing this year mate. Who was complaining about Ghost?! They’re great. One of the acts I’m most looking forward to in all honesty.
